PARENTS:
Please remember that the DeKalb Public Library, although a fun place to be, is a
busy public building.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN
UNSUPERVISED IN THE LIBRARY.
Children are welcome in the DeKalb Public Library; however, the staff and Board
of Trustees are concerned about their safety and welfare. Parents and caregivers
are responsible for monitoring the activities of their children as well as
regulating their behavior while in the Library and on its grounds.
Children under the age of 7 may not be left unattended anywhere inside the
Library. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied and directly
supervised by a responsible caregiver at all times, in ALL areas of the Library
and on its grounds.
Unattended children over the age of 7 are free to utilize the Library as long as
needed, provided their behavior is not disruptive to other patrons or staff
members.
It is not the responsibility of the Library staff to serve as
babysitters, teachers, or disciplinarians or to ensure the
absolute safety of the children.
If a caregiver of a child cannot be located, or if the
Library is closing, Library staff will call the police.
At closing, staff will wait 10 minutes with the child
(ren) before calling the police. Two (2) Library
staff members will wait with the child until the
police arrive.

Por favor de recordar que la Biblioteca Publica de DeKalb, aun que sea un lugar
divertido, es un edificio publico y ocupado.
POR FAVOR NO DEJEN SUS NIÑOS SIN SUPERVISION EN
LA BIBLIOTECA.
Niños están bienvenidos en la biblioteca de DeKalb, pero los trabajadores y
oficiales están preocupados por la seguridad de ellos. Padres y cuidadores tienen
la responsabilidad de supervisar las actividades y comportamiento de sus niños
cuando visitando la biblioteca.
Niños menores de la edad de 7 tienen que estar acompañados y supervisado por
un adulto mientras están en la biblioteca y en las propiedades a todos tiempos.
A los niños solos más de 7 años de edad son libres de utilizar la biblioteca de
tiempo que sea necesario, siempre que su comportamiento no es perjudicial para
otros clientes o miembros del personal.
No es la responsabilidad del personal de la biblioteca para
servir como niñeras, maestros, o la disciplina o para
garantizar la seguridad absoluta de los niños.
Si el cuidador de un niño no puede ser localizado, o si la biblioteca va a cerrar,
los empleados de la biblioteca pueden llamar la policía. En el cierre, los
empleados va a esperar 10 minutos con el niño (s) antes de llamar a la policía.
Dos (2) empleados de la biblioteca va a esperar con el niño hasta que llegue la
policía.
