Principal's Letter
Good evening Walter Reed Families!
Thank you to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers for a successful Back to School Night event last
Thursday. We had a great turnout and enjoyed the opportunity to see all of our families on campus.
As a reminder, Monday is a school holiday. We ask that there are no drop-offs or pick-ups using the staff
parking lot. This is District policy to ensure the safety of our students. After 3:30pm, or 2:00pm on
Tuesdays, all pick-ups are through the Colfax gate. You may not use the staff parking lot to pick up
students from the after school program. Thank you for your help and support on this this.
Also, please complete your family meal application for LAUSD. Every student received an application and
we need 100% participation to qualify for federal funding for our school. Have your child return their paper
application or you may follow the directions for the online application at
www.lausd.net and look us up at Reed Middle School on the drop down list.
Finally, please check our school website to learn more about what's happening at Reed this week and
register for the RNN. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Gracias a nuestros maestros, personal, y padres voluntarios por el éxito de Noche de Regreso a la Escuela este pasado jueves.
Como recordatorio este lunes es un día festivo.les recordamos que no pueden usar el estacionamiento del personal para dejar o
recoger a los estudiantes. Esto es la póliza del Distrito escolar para la seguridad de los estudiantes.
Después de las 3:00 pm y las 2:00 pm los martes debe recoger a los estudiantes por la puerta de la calle Colfax.
No use el estacionamiento del personal de la escuela para recoger a los estudiantes del Programa después de escuela .Gracias
por la ayuda y el apoyó.
También, por favor complete la aplicación de almuerzo de LAUSD. Cada estudiante recibió una aplicación en papel y
necesitamos una participación del 100% para calificar para el fondo federal para nuestra escuela. Haga que su hijo regrese al
aplicación o tambien usted puede llenarla en línea.

REED's Got TALENT Show
CALLING ALL PERFORMERS! DO YOU HAVE TALENT???
Do you have a special performing talent? Do you sing, dance, twirl a baton,
rap, tap, have a singing group or have a special talent that you to share?
Then we want you to audition for the "Reeds Got Talent Show" September
15th at 3:10pm in the auditorium.
You must sign up to audition outside of room 217 by September 14th. No one may
audition unless they sign up. Auditions are quick and you may leave once you audition.
Singers can bring music, or sing acappella, music should be on a phone or ipod. For
more information check with Ms. Szymanski in room 217 during Nutrition.
If you are a band, come see her and show her a video of your audition.
If you are chosen to participate in the talent show, you must attend the following
rehearsals, with no exceptions. (You must stay for the whole rehearsal time.) Thursday,
October 20th from 3:10 to 6 pm Tech Rehearsal, Thursday October 27th 3:106pm Dress Rehearsal. Friday October 28th is the show from 7-9:30pm. You may email

Session1 Classes have started but you can still jump in
Return Applications to RASE BOX in the Main Office.
You are welcome to TIME STAMP your application in the Attendance Office.
You will be receive email confirmation for your class.
 Vendors require minimum number of students to operate a class
and you will be notified ASAP if the class is "sold out" or if minimums
were not met.
 Updates and INFO can be found in Parent Center, Rm 106, or
