welcomed a baby girl! Samantha Tran Young was born on Sunday,
February 6th. Mommy and baby are both doing well and are looking
forward to meeting the KIPP Team & Family later this spring!

Free Tax Preparation
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistant Program (VITA) has partnered with KIPP to offer free tax preparation services for
households with an income of $54,000 or less. To learn more about the program please stop by the main office for a
flyer or visit the website at www.uwsv.org/free-tax-help.
Free Immigration Workshop
The Mexican Consulate is offering free assistance with DACA and DACA renewals for those who meet eligibility
requirements. The workshop is taking place on Saturday, February 20th, at 302 Enzo Dr, Suite 200, San Jose, CA
95138. Financial support is available to eligible applicants. For more information and to register, please
call 408.389.0116.
College Savings
Instead of giving your loved ones chocolate and flowers for Valentine’s Day, donate to their 529 savings account
instead and fund their college education! To open a 529 Account, please contact Ms. Ly, or enroll online by visiting
our website at www.kippbayarea.org/programs-and-initiatives. You will find the enrollment page under the heading
“Financial Literacy,” located at the bottom of the website.
Reminders
 In honor of President’s Day, we will not have school on Monday, February 15th, 2016.
 Tuesday and Saturday Tutorials are mandatory for students who receive invitations. Students should only
attend if they receive an invitation.

Nos da un gran placer anunciarles que Ms. Tran y su esposo le
han dado la bienvenida a una niña. Samantha Tran Young
nació el domingo 6 de febrero. Tanto la mamá con la bebé
está bien y están a la espera de reunirse con el equipo y
familia de KIPP más adelante en la primavera.
Preparación de impuestos gratis
El programa voluntario de asistencia de impuestos (VITA, por sus siglas en inglés) ha formado un convenio con KIPP
para ofrecer servicios gratis de preparación de impuestos para hogares con ingresos de $54,000 o menos. Para
obtener más información sobre este programa por favor vaya a la oficina principal por un volante o visite la página

Talleres gratis sobre inmigración
El consulado mexicano de San José está ofreciendo asistencia gratis con DACA y renovaciones de DACA para aquellos
que cumplan con los requisitos de elegibilidad. El taller se llevara a cabo el sábado 20 de febrero, en el 302 Enzo
Drive, cuarto 200 de San José, CA 95138. Ayuda financiera está disponible para los solicitantes que son elegibles.
