Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Fitting lids on bolled bugs
Wiping tear and giving hugs
A stack of last weeks mail to read
So where’s the quiet time I need?

The young adults attending World Youth Day this summer spent last Friday journeying to and from neighborhood parishes (St. Joan of Arc, Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady of Sorrow and St. Leo's) in order to raise money for their trip and to grow as a community of prayer.

They discussed the fundraising, the formation and what they hope to get out of the experience. This was an inspiration to continue active involvement at St. Bart's and hope that they too can someday make a similar pilgrimage. AS A REMINDER, ALL YOUTH ARE WELCOME TO BE TRUE BELIEVERS! BIBLE STUDY FIRST COMMUNIONS Over the next two Saturdays, 236 children will receive their First Holy Communion. It’s a moment they will never forget. It’s also a joyful time of celebration for our parish. We take this opportunity to thank their parents, godparents, catechists and all who participated in bringing and forming these young people in the Catholic faith. The masses will take place on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. and Saturday May 21 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend. PRIMERAS COMUNIONES Durante los dos próximos sábados, 236 niños recibirán la Primera Comunión. Es un momento que nunca olvidarán. Es también un momento alegre de celebración para nuestra parroquia. Masses will be offered for all mothers living or deceased— ON THIS WEEKEND OF MAY 7/8. Envelopes are available at the entrance of the churches. Fill them out and drop them in the collection basket during mass. The envelopes will be placed on the church altars during the month of May. Fr John Replogle, Sj who assists us with mass each Sunday has offered to begin Bible Study classes in English! Initially, we will offer the classes for a 6 week periods and evaluate. Fr. Replogle will be focusing on the upcoming Sunday gospels for study and prayer. THE NEXT CLASS WILL BE MONDAY, MAY 9 AT 11:30 A.M. IN HEAFEY HALL. FR. JOHN GILDEA: Father Gildea will celebrate a mass of thanksgiving to almighty God for his 50 years of priesthood on Sunday, May 29th at the 10 a.m. mass. SPECIAL COLLECTION: As you know the country of Ecuador experienced an earthquake two weeks ago. This disaster killed hundreds of people, hurt thousands and destroyed the homes of so many more. We would like to assist those most in need through the work of Catholic Relief Services. The weekend of, May 14/15 all cash received in the second collection will go to assist the people of Ecuador. There is already an envelope for Debt Reduction in your packet. If you choose to give to that as well you may place that envelope in the first or second collection. tion we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Mary and the Apostles. The color of the day is…red!! Wear something red as we celebrate the gifts and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the life of our Church! Fr Rick will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 17 adults at the 11:30 a.m. Spanish mass in the main church.
