2016 Short Film Festival Rules

The “Festival de Cine de Música en Roca”
(Music Film Festival of Roca) is a cultural
project nonprofit organized in the village
of Roca (Guitiriz), which during the last
weekend of July is projected films,
documentaries and short films themed
music, outdoors, and in order to energize
the cultural life of our village and its
surroundings.
2016 Short Film Festival Rules
1) Anyone older than 18 can participate. Two categories are established, one for Galician
filmmakers and one for any other nationality
2) The short films joining the festival can belong to any genre but the subject matter must be
musical.
3) The pieces joining the festival must be dated after January 1, 2012
4) Each author is allowed to present one single piece.
5) The short films will be presented in Galician or Spanish language
6) Pieces presented in any other language must contain Spanish or Galician subtitles.
7) Length of the pieces: they must be 3 minutes minimum and 30 minutes maximum, including the
credits.
8) The short films can be filmed in any format but a copy must be presented in a DVD, or on a digital
platform.
9) The pieces presented must be accompanied by the entry form correctly filled together with the
following documents:
- Identity card or passport copy.
- A short synopsis, a technical and artistic file card, two pictures from the film and a poster - if
avaliable.
10) The pieces sent to the contest will be pre-selected by the festival's committee to decide whether
they are suitable to run for the audience award. The material will be not returned, however, if it
does not win the award, it can be collected in person in a 90- day-period after the end of the festival

12) The pieces presented in former editions of the contest will be not allowed to participate.
13) The management of the festival reserves the right to obtain copies of the short films selected for
promotion, advertising and non-profit exhibitions purposes.
14) The participants will be responsible for no third part rights claim involved in the pieces
presented, as well as for any possible copyright claim.
15) A copy of the winning piece will remain as property of the video library created by the festival
and it can be used or shown in further editions, in any media, with no financial gain purposes.
16) The pieces selected will win an award from the management of the festival and this award will
be awarded in person on the day of the festival.
17) The pieces that pass the initial selection process will compete for the Audience Award which
means 100 euros in cash for each category along with an exclusive trophy of the festival crafted by a
local artist- one for each category.
18) The winning author will collect the prize in person or will delegate another member of the team;
if this is not possible, a bank transfer payment will be made for the amount of the prize.
19) Participating in the “Festival de Cine de Música en Roca” means the acceptance of the present
rules and of any decisions taken by the management of the festival in any circumstances not
recorded here
20) The selected pieces will be published on the festival's website after the festival.

BASES CONCURSO CORTOMETRAJES 2016
1) Podrán participar autores y autoras de cualquier nacionalidad mayores de 18 años.
Se establecen dos categorías, una para autores gallegos y otra para autores de
cualquier nacionalidad.
2) Los cortometrajes presentados podrán ser de cualquier género pero la temática
debe ser musical.
3) Las obras presentadas serán realizadas con posterioridad al 1 de enero de 2012.
4) Cada autor/a puede presentar una única obra.
5) Los cortometrajes serán presentados en gallego o castellano.
6) También podrán presentarse en cualquier otro idioma pero tendrán que llevar
subtítulos en castellano o gallego.
7) La duración de las obras tendrá que ser de 3 minutos como mínimo y de 30 minutos
como máximo, incluidos los créditos.
8) Los cortometrajes podrán estar rodados en cualquier formato pero se presentará
una copia en DVD o a través de plataformas digitales.
9) Las obras presentadas deberán acompañarse de la ficha de inscripción
debidamente cumplimentada, además de:
-Fotocopia DNI o pasaporte.
-Breve sinopsis, ficha técnica y artística, dos fotos del cortometraje y cartel (si lo
hubiera).
10) La obra enviada será objeto de una pre-selección por el comité del festival para
decidir si finalmente es elegida para competir por el premio del público. El material no
será devuelto, sin embargo se podrá recoger la obra personalmente en un plazo de
90 días tras la finalización del festival si no resulta ganadora.
11) Las obras presentadas serán entregadas por correo certificado a la dirección:

El prazo de presentación acaba el día 30 de junio del 2016.
12) Las obras presentadas en anteriores ediciones no podrán participar en las
siguientes.
13) La dirección del festival se reserva el derecho de obtener copias de los
cortometrajes seleccionados con destino a la promoción, publicidad y proyección sin
ánimo de lucro.
14) Los/Las participantes se harán responsables de que no existan derechos de
terceros de las obras presentadas así como de las reclamaciones por derechos de
imagen.
15) Una copia de la obra premiada quedará como propiedad de la videoteca creada
por el festival pudiendo ser utilizada o exhibida en ediciones posteriores y en los
medios oportunos, todo esto sin ánimo de lucro o de explotación comercial.
16) Las obras seleccionadas tendrán un obsequio por parte de la organización del
concurso y que será entregado personalmente el día del festival.
17) Las obras que pasen la selección optarán al Premio del Público do III Festival de
Cine de Roca, que tendrá lugar los días 29 e 30 de julio, e que consistirá en un premio
en metálico de 100 euros para cada una de las categorías así como un trofeo
exclusivo do festival realizado por un artista local para cada categoría.
18) El autor premiado deberá recoger personalmente el premio o delegar en un
miembro del equipo, de no estar se enviará la cuantía mediante transferencia
bancaria.
19) La participación en el Festival de Cine de Música en Roca supondrá la aceptación
de las bases y la resolución por parte de la organización de cualquier circunstancia
recogida en éstas.
20) Las obras seleccionadas se darán a conocer en la web con anterioridad a la
realización del festival.
