The International Commission
on Performances and Practice
In April of 2012, the IOV General Assembly approved new
Bylaws, which provide for the creation of a new commission
to oversee all aspects of folk art performances and practice.
The IOV Commission on Performances and Practice, which
is chaired by IOV Vice-president Rikus Draijer, continues
the tradition of producing the IOV Festival Calendar for
2013.
This festival calendar is just one way in which IOV fulfills
its mission to protect, preserve and promote folk art of all
types. The printed version of the calendar is only available
to IOV members. The public may view the calendar after
January 1, 2013 on the IOV web site, at www.iovworld.com.
Our goal is to produce a complete and accurate list of international folk festivals. If you organize a festival, and
would like to see your event advertised in this calendar,
we invite you to join IOV and then submit your festival
data before August 15 th , 2013. The data form will be
