A Abstract: Th he process of transestterification,, also called d alcoholyssis, is the method m m most commo only used for f the prod duction of biodiesel. Crude C oil avvocado vaariety Fuertte was extrracted by ceentrifugatio on. To the crude c avocaado oil trransesterificcation was reacted w with methaanol and ttwo conventional caatalyst (KOH H and NaOH H) for 1 hou ur at a temp perature of 60°C. In thiis work th he transestterification of crude oil, avocaado class III extractted by ceentrifugatio on was anaalyzed by in nfrared and d Raman sspectroscop py. The trransesterificcation was carried out with methanol an nd KOH. Th he oil‐ m methanol mo olar ratio w was varied 1:4, 1:6 y 1:8 8, while keeeping constaant the am mount of ccatalyst, tem mperature and a time. B By FTIR meeasurementss were fo ound biodieesel characteeristic peakks located at 1196 cm‐11 attributed to the sttretching vib bration of tthe methyl group and 1437 cm‐1 iin the asym mmetric bo ound CH3, eexcept the ssample with molar ratio o 1:4. By Raman spectro oscopy so ome significcant differences betweeen the spectra and the sample o oil after th he transesteerification p process weree observed.. A shift of tthe band ob bserved ‐1 att 1750 to 17 742 cm atttributed to C = O was o observed, w which may ssuggest th hat there is no bond with the moleecule of glyccerin and a new peak appears att 863 cm‐1 aattributed to o ((R‐C=O an nd C‐C), whiich is due to o formation n of the m methyl ester.
