We recently learned that Archbishop Gregory has assigned Father Bill Hao as
parochial vicar at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek, effective July 1. From
that new assignment he will continue his leadership of the Holy Name of Jesus
Chinese Catholic Mission as its first administrator.
We will send him to his new assignment with a reception in his honor on Saturday,
June 18, 5:00-7:00 p.m., in the Historic Church. Please come help us offer Father Bill
our gratitude and affection.

SVDP PARISHIONER
MATCHING DONATION
As a result of the parishioner pledge to match
donations up to $7,500 made in March, IHM
SVdP collected $10,450.09! This amount
represents about a 40% increase over our normal collection. AND, the April collection
was also fantastic since our benefactor has
completed the $7500 match. The IHM SVdP
Conference thanks you for your generosity in
helping us to achieve our mission: Respecting
the dignity of each person, St. Vincent de Paul
Georgia brings hope and help to those in need
so they may achieve stability and move toward self-sufficiency.

2016 EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS

CONSECRATION TO JESUS THROUGH MARY
May 2-June 3
Do you have a special devotion to Mary?
As we are called to turn towards Jesus Christ and enter into a deeper relationship with Him, consider consecrating yourself to Jesus Christ through Mary.
The Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary by St. Louis-Marie de Monfort
involves a 33-day preparation period, which consists of daily readings and
prayers, and culminates with a prayer of consecration on a Marian feast day.
Both the preparation and the prayer of consecration can be done
individually. Here at IHM, a group of parishioners will begin the 33-day
devotion individually on May 2 and will get together as a group to do the prayer
of consecration on the feast day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 4
after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Come and join us!

Coming this fall to IHM!

After broad consultation with teens, parents, staff and the parish Pastoral Council,
we will inaugurate the Life Teen high school youth ministry and The EDGE middle school youth ministry at IHM this fall! Life Teen and The EDGE will gather
on Sunday evenings at 6:15, immediately following the 5:00 p.m. Mass. (Pizza
will available for the hungry!) At the same hour, there will be a GIFT session for
grades K-5, especially to accommodate families who have students in more than
one age group.
A Sunday morning GIFT session will also be available for grades K-5 only, 10:15
-11:15 a.m.

Each Thursday, Dr. Louanne Bachner
leads an informative and prayerful
discussion of the lectionary readings
for the following Sunday. The study
meets in the Lower Level at two
different times: 9:30 am or 7:00 pm.
There is no registration required and
no fee to participate. Feel free to join
the group as your schedule permits.
Enrollment for next year’s Faith Formation programs is now open and will
remain open throughout the summer. Enroll before June 30 to receive an early
enrollment discount. Forms will be available at weekend GIFT classes and in the
parish office. As of this year, we will also be able to accept all enrollment and
payment information online at www.ihmatlanta.org.

MISSION POSSIBLE 2016
All rising 9th-12th graders are invited to accept the
challenge to serve this summer at Mission Possible! This is
a 5 day in-town mission trip that we do with the youth at St.
Oliver Plunkett Church in Snellville. The cost to attend is
$75 per teen. Come share your time and talent to help others
this summer.
Registration forms will be available online on the IHM’s

ADULT CHAPERONES NEEDED!
THE REVIVE! YOUTH TRACK (EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS)
Friday, June 3
Young adults are invited to this uplifting track from 8:00
p.m.-10:30 p.m. with guest speakers, praise and worship,
and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. For more details/

A big part of having a successful Mission Possible, is the
help provided by the adults with transportation and
supervising work sites. Adults are NOT required to stay
overnight— FYI, the average work shifts are from 8am2pm, but once your group is done, you may return home or
better yet, stay with us for dinner and evening activities! All
chaperones must complete the required volunteer forms and
must be background checked prior to participating. If you
are 21 and over, and would like to participate in Mission
Possible this summer, please contact Kathy Guerrero for

ADULT VOLUNTEERS FOR YOUTH MINISTRY
STARVE WARS! (EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS)
Friday, June 3
We are seeking volunteers of all ages to help pack 100,000
meals to go to the impoverished developing country of
Burkina Faso in Africa. The event will take place at the
Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.
There will be two sessions, 9:00-10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.12:30 p.m. Registration is required! Please sign up at

This fall we will inaugurate the Life Teen (high school) and
