Green Day
Yesterday morning IFM Camp turned
green, but not with envy! Green Town organised a takeover, encouraging every village to participate in camp-wide fun. There
were green shirts, green shorts and green
shoes, lots of green facepaint, 2kg of green
glitter, and green leaves adorned people’s
heads. Different villages from Green Town
paraded to each of the other towns chanting “what do we want? Green! When do
we want it? Green Day!” They played big
games in the village circles and sang songs
before all meeting at the Youth Area to
play games all together.

Brighton and Hove Woodcraft Folk (Green Carnation village) who created
the lanterns. They were
helped by people from all
around the world.
Der Abschlussabend am Donnerstag startet um 20 Uhr an der großen
Bühne. Kommt als Städte geschlossen
(und gekleidet in eurer Farbe)! Die Frage des Abends wird sein: Wie können
wir die andere Welt auch außerhalb
des Camps erreichen? Wenn ihr dazu
Ideen und Beiträge habt, wendet euch
am Donnerstag noch an das Youth
Area Team.
Der LV der Falken BaWü lädt alle Interessierten zum Action, Mond & Sterne
Polit-Camp ein:
01.– 04. September 2016, Zeltlagerplatz Stöcklewald (Südschwarzwald).
Verstehen, Kritisieren, etwas Neues
schaffen. Für all das steht das Action,
Mond & Sterne Camp im Südschwarzwald. Hier wird ein Freiraum in Form
eines selbstverwalteten Camps geschaffen. Ein Raum, der Vorträge,
Workshops und Kultur bietet.
Rassismus, Sexismus, Homophobie,
Antisemitismus und sonstige menschenverachtende Ideologien stehen
unserer Vorstellung vom schönen Leben entgegen. Darum wollen wir unseren Teil zur Überwindung eben dieser
beitragen.

They are for the Nuremburg day of action.
Are the lanterns symbolic of anything?
Most of the lanterns are general representations of peace and another
World. The dove symbolises peace, the
tree symbolises Woodcraft Folk and
the boat with many people on it refers
to refugees escaping trouble in their
countries.

We saw you walking
around the campsite on
Monday evening and we wondered
why you were doing this?
We thought we would have a practice
run in the dark to see what the lanterns looked like with lights and without colour.
How did you make the lanterns ?
We used willow sticks and we joined
them together using masking tape
to make the shapes. Then we covered
them with wet strength tissue which
is much harder than normal tissue.
We used watered down P.V.A. glue to
stick the tissue paper to the willow
sticks, with some of them we used colour tissue paper because in the day
it is brighter but at night when you
light them it’s best to use white paper
because it glows better in the dark.
How did you get the lights inside the
lanterns?
Wenn ihr das lest, seid ihr wahrscheinlich gerade auf dem Weg nach Nürnberg für einen Tag voller Demonstrationen und Spaß. Aber was wisst ihr
über die Stadt?
Nürnberg ist nach München die zweitgrößte Stadt in Bayern und die größte
in Franken.
Im 19. Jh. entwickelte sich die Stadt zu
einem wichtigen Zentrum der industriellen Revolution in Deutschland. Zu Beginn des 20. Jh. hielt die
NSDAP, Hitlers Nazipartei, hier ihren
großen Parteitag ab, auch bekannt als
„Reichsparteitag“. Hier wurden auch
die antisemitischen Nürnberger Rassengesetze verabschiedet, in denen
u.a. jüdischen Menschen, SInti und
Roma die Staatsbürgerrechte abgesprochen und sie starken Repressionen ausgesetzt wurden. Zwischen 1943 und 1945 wurde Nürnberg von den Alliierten stark bombardiert. Ungefähr 6000 Menschen wurden getötet. Viele Gebäude wurden
vollständig zerstört und nach dem
Krieg wieder aufgebaut. Aus symbolischen und praktischen
Gründen wurde Nürnberg nach dem
Krieg für die Kriegsverbrecherprozesse
ausgewählt. Zwischen 1945 und 1946
wurden hier Verantwortliche, die an
Kriegsverbrechen und Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit beteiligt waren, vor Gericht gestellt. Heute ist der
Gerichtsraum 600, wo die Prozesse vieler Nazi-Führungspersonen verhandelt
wurden, Teil einer großen Ausstellung
über die Prozesse und die Reichsparteitage, die uns an den nationalsozialistischen Größenwahn erinnern sollen. Nürnberg ist außerdem bekannt für
seinen Christkindlmarkt auf dem
Hauptmarkt im Herzen der Altstadt
und für die Kaiserburg, einen Schlosskomplex, der die mittelalterliche Stärke repräsentiert. Die Stadt beherbergt
außerdem das Deutsche Nationalmuseum, welches Arbeiten deutscher
Künster*innen, eine archäologische
Sammlung, musische und wissenschaftliche Instrumente und viele andere Objekte beherbergt. ◆ Nuremberg
As you read this, you might be on your
way to Nuremberg for a day full of
demonstrations and fun. But what do
you know about this city? It is the second largest in Bavaria (after Munich)
and the largest in Franconia (Franken). Around the 19th century, the city beca-
me a powerhouse in Germany’s industrial revolution. At the beginning of the 20th century,
the Nazi Party chose the city to be the
site of their huge conventions, known
as the Nuremberg rallies. It was also
there that the infamous anti-Semitic
Nuremberg Laws, revoking German citizenship for Jewish people, were passed. From 1943 and 1945, the city was severely damaged in Allied bombings.
Around 6000 people were killed and
many of its buildings were destroyed.
It was rebuilt after the war and some of
its previous appearance was restored,
including some medieval buildings. Due to symbolic and practical reasons, Nuremberg was chosen to host
the war crimes tribunal known as the
Nuremberg Trials. Between 1945 and
1946, German officials involved in war
crimes and crimes against humanity
were brought before an international
tribunal there. Nowadays the Court
Room 600, where many Nazi leaders
were tried, forms part of an exhibit
about the trials and the former Nazi
Party Rally grounds remain and remind
us of National Socialist megalomania. Nuremberg is also known for its Christmas market, held every December
in the bustling square called Hauptmarkt, in the heart of the Altstadt (old
town), and for the Kaiserburg, a huge
castle complex that reflects the city’s medieval power. It’s also home to
the Germanisches Nationalmuseum,
which features works by German painters and sculptors, an archaeological
