Winston Anderson, Juez de la Corte Caribeña de Justicia, miembro del Consejo
Asesor Internacional para la Justicia Ambiental para la Promoción de la Justicia, la
Gobernanza y el Derecho para la Sostenibilidad Ambiental de PNUMA
El Honorable Winston Anderson es juez de la Corte Caribeña de Justicia. Se tituló en
derecho por la University of West Indies en 1983 y se doctoró en filosofía por la
Universidad de Cambridge en Londres, con especialización en derecho internacional y
ambiental. En 1988, realizó el curso de formación en Inns of Court School of Law en
Londres y fue admitido en el Colegio de Abogados de Inglaterra y Gales como Barrister of
the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. El juez Anderson fue nombrado General Counsel
de la Secretaría de la Comunidad del Caribe (CARICOM) en comisión de servicios desde la
University of West Indies entre 2003-2006. En 2006, fue nombrado profesor de la Facultad
de Derecho, University of West Indies y fue admitido en el Colegio de Abogados de
Jamaica en febrero de 2007. Tras su regreso a la Facultad de Derecho en 2006, fue
nombrado director ejecutivo de CLIC.
El juez Anderson fue promovido a Bench of the Caribbean Court of Justice at King’s
House, Kingston, Jamaica, el 15 de junio de 2010. Fue investido por Su Excelencia Sir
Patrick Allen, Gobernador General de Jamaica.

The Honorable Winston Anderson is a judge of the Caribbean Court of Justice. He earned
a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies in 1983 and has a Doctorate in
Philosophy from Cambridge University in London, majoring in International and
Environmental Law. In 1988, he completed a course of training at the Inns of Court School
of Law in London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales, as a Barrister of the
Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Justice Anderson was appointed general counsel of the
Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat on secondment from the University of West
Indies for 2003-2006. In 2006 he was appointed professor in the Faculty of Law, University
of West Indies and was called to the Bar of Jamaica in February 2007. Following his
return to the Faculty of Law in 2006, he was appointed CLIC executive director.
Justice Anderson was elevated to the Bench of the Caribbean Court of Justice at King’s
House, Kingston, Jamaica, on June 15, 2010. He was sworn in by His Excellency the
Governor General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen.

Abogada y Especialista en Relaciones Internacionales. Oficial Legal del PNUMA desde
2007 y Coordinadora regional de Gobernanza Ambiental en la Oficina Regional del
PNUMA desde 2007. Anteriormente fue Directora de Promoción Ambiental de la
Secretaria de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible de Argentina y Profesora de Derecho
Internacional Privado.

Environmental Law and Conventions – DELC
Lawyer and international relations specialist. Legal Officer at UNEP since 2007 and
Regional Environmental Governance Coordinator of UNEP’s Regional Office since 2007.
She was previously Director of Environmental Promotion of the Secretary of Environment
and Sustainable Development of Argentina and professor of Private International Law.
