Standardized Dress Guidelines

DRESS AND GROOMING
The district’s dress code is established to teach grooming and hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety hazards.
Students and parents may determine a student’s personal dress and grooming standards provided they comply with the
following:
Standardized Dress Guidelines:
•
All clothing must be appropriately sized. Clothing may not be oversized or a baggy style.
o
Pants must always be worn at the waist.
o
Over sized shirts and outer wear are not permitted.
o
Athletic style shorts, sweats, and wind suits are not permitted.
•
All clothing must be properly hemmed and/or cuffed (no rips, tears, cuts or frays)
•
Pants, Jeans, Capri Pants, Shorts, Skorts, Skirts, Jumpers and Dresses must be a solid color.

Pants, shorts and skirts may not have studs or decorations of any kind.
o
Belts must be worn with pants that have belt loops, and the belt must be worn within the belt loops and
buckled at all times.
o
Pants with oversized pockets are unacceptable.
Buttoned polo-style, knit shirts with collars or oxford-style or dress shirts must be a solid color.
o
Lettering or brand logos larger than 2.0 inches by 2.0 inches are not allowed.
o
All shirts must remain tucked in under all circumstances. (Grades 6-12)
o
Undershirts must be white, black, or the same color as the top shirt and must remain tucked in under all
circumstances.
Outerwear.
o
Solid color fleece and lightweight jackets are allowed.
o
All jackets must be a solid color, appropriately sized and worn over a standard dress-approved shirt.
o
Sweatshirts, sweaters and sweater vests must be a solid color and must be worn over a standard dressapproved shirt.
o
Sweatshirts, sweaters, and sweater vests must be appropriately sized in the shoulders, sleeves and
length.
o
Any outerwear garment that does not fit the description above must be removed upon entering the school
building. Students concerned about being cold while inside the school building must follow the guidelines
above.
o
Heavy and oversized coats and jackets are not allowed to be worn in the building.
Shoes.
o
Acceptable styles include leather-like or canvas lace up, loafers, tennis shoes, close-toed mule styles or
slides, sandals with a back strap, or boots.
o
Unacceptable shoe styles include flip-flops and open-toed shoes without a back strap.
o
Shoes must be tied or fastened at all times.
o
Tights or hosiery must be a solid color or neutral with no lettering, wording or designs.
Additional dress and grooming standards that are age appropriate may be established by the campus principal and
required for each campus. Campus dress and grooming standards must fall within these district guidelines and must be
published in the Student / Parent Handbook.
Pautas Estandardizadas Del Vestido:

Toda ropa debe ser de talla apropiada. La ropa no puede ser demasiado grande ni de un estilo muy floja.

Los pantalones siempre deben ser llevados a la cintura.

Camisas muy grandes y uso exterior no son permitidos.
o
Los shorts de estilo atléticos, sudaderas, y juicios de viento no se permiten.

Toda la ropa debe ser hecha con bastilla apropiado y/o remangado (no rotos, bastillas arrompidas o
desgastar).

Los pantalones, de mezclilla, Pantalones de Capri, Shorts, Skorts, Faldas, Jerseys y Vestidos deben ser
un color sólido.

Pantalones, shorts y las faldas no pueden tener sementales ni decoraciones de cualquier tipo.
o
Los cinturones se deben llevar con pantalones que tienen los lazos del cinturón, y el cinturón debe ser
llevado dentro de los lazos del cinturón y abrochado siempre.
o
Pantalones con bolsillos demasiado grandes no son aceptables.
El estilo de polo abrochado, camisas de tejió con cuellos o estilo oxford o camisas de vestir deben ser un
color sólido.
o
Logos de Letras o de marca mas grandes de 2.0 pulgadas por 2.0 pulgadas no se permiten.
o
Todas camisas deben quedarse fajadas bajo todas circunstancias. (Grados 6-12)
o
Camisetas usadas debajo de la ropa deben ser blancas, negras, o el mismo color como la camisa de
encima y deben quedarse fajadas bajo todas circunstancias.
Ropa exterior.
o
Vellón sólido de color y chaquetas livianas se permiten.
o
Todas las chaquetas deben ser de un color sólido, de talla apropiada y llevados sobre una camisa del
vestuario aprobado.
o
Sudaderas, suéteres y chalecos de suéter deben ser de un color sólido y se deben llevar sobre una
camisa del vestuario aprobado.
o
Los chándales, suéteres, y chalecos de suéter se deben usar apropiadamente en hombros, mangas y
largo.
o
Cualquier prenda de uso por fuera de vestir que no le quede a la descripción de arriba debe ser quitada
al entrar el edificio de la escuela. Los estudiantes concernidos acerca de tener frío mientras dentro del
edificio de la escuela debe seguir las pautas de arriba.
o
Los abrigos y las chaquetas pesadas y demasiado grandes no se permiten ser usadas en el edificio.
Zapatos.
o
Los estilos aceptables incluyen encaje de cuero-como o de lona encima, gandules, zapatillas de tenis,
los estilos de mule de pie cerrado o de metedera, sandalias con una correa atrás del pie, o botas.
o
Los estilos inaceptables del zapato incluyen chanclas y zapatos de pie abierto sin una correa detrás del
pie.
o
Los zapatos deben ser amarados o deben ser abrochados bajo todas circunstancias.
o
Mallas o calcetería debe ser un color sólido o neutral con ningunas letras, palabras o diseños.
Estándares adicionales del vestuario y arreglamiento que son apropiados con la edad pueden ser establecidos por el
director de cada escuela y requeridos para cada escuela. Estándares del vestuario y arreglamiento de escuela deben
corresponder con las pautas del distrito y debe ser publicadas en el Guía de Estudiante/Padre.
