TRIGÉSIMO DOMINGO
DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
Sin embargo, su palabra y su actitud están vacías. No
ha buscado, en realidad, más dios que su grandeza y
se contenta con su propia perfección humana. Quien
reza realmente es quien, ante Dios, tiene un
espíritu de mendigo y vive con humildad ante
quien puede donarle riquezas gratuitamente.
Pues, es la actitud del corazón la que hace
auténtica la oración!.

REFLEXIÓN
Las lecturas de hoy nos hablan de cómo debe ser
nuestra relación con el Señor y de la actitud con que
debemos presentarnos ante Dios, nuestro Padre.
También nos da a entender la actitud que debemos
tener para con Dios y los hombres. La primera
lectura, de Siracida, subraya esta afirmación: Dios es
imparcial y ante Él no hay preferencia de personas.
Luego, explica por qué “oye precisamente la oración
del oprimido... del huérfano...y de la viuda." No
porque les privilegia indebidamente, sino porque han
manifestado que necesitan de Él. En el Evangelio,
aparentemente parece que sí hace distinción, y que
escucha solamente a ciertas personas. El hecho de
reconocernos pecadores y necesitados de la gracia de
Dios es la condición para una buena oración. El
publicano sube ante Dios y se descubre hundido en la
miseria; necesita salir de su pecado y pide
ansiosamente auxilio. Quién es rico y se hace fuerte
en su riqueza, no busca el don de Dios; y aunque
repita una fórmula de oración, su corazón no reza
realmente. El fariseo sube al templo; dice
abiertamente que le importa la oración y la realiza.
Today's readings tell us about how our relationship
with the Lord should be, and about the attitude with
which we must present ourselves before God, our
Father. Also, they let us understand the attitude we
should have towards God and men. The first reading,
from the Book of Sirach, emphasizes this statement:
“God is impartial and with Him there is no preference
of people.” Then, it says why He "listens to the prayer
of the oppressed... of the orphan ... and of the
widow." Not because he gives privileges that they do
not deserve, but because they have shown the need of
Him. In the Gospel, there seems to be a distinction,
and that He only listens to certain people. The fact
that we recognize ourselves as sinners, in need of the
grace of God, is the condition for a good prayer. The
publican rises to God because he finds himself in his
misery. He sees himself in need of getting out of his
sins, and anxiously asks for help. On the contrary,
anyone who is rich and is made strong by his wealth
does not look for the gift of God. As a consequence,
although he may repeat a formula of prayer, his heart
does not really pray. The Pharisee goes up to the
temple; says openly that he cares about the prayer,
and prays. However, his attitude and his words are
empty, as in reality, he has not sought more God than
his own greatness and is satisfied with his own
human perfection. Really the one who prays is who
in the eyes of God, has a beggar’s soul, who lives
with humility before the One who can give gifts
for free. Hence, it is the humility and the attitude
of the heart that makes a genuine prayer.
