New this year to Beaumont
Elementary are the District
installed security
gates. Anyone entering the
campus can only do so by entering through the office, stating the nature of their visit and
obtaining a pass. We thank all
of our parents, students and
visitors for quickly conforming
to this new District policy. We

2nd grade will be going to Legoland on May 6th. We will
be attending classes at both the aquarium and the
park. Students and teachers are really looking forward to
the class on robotics !

3rd Grade Section/ Sección del Tercer Grado
Our 3rd grade students are really enjoying our new Dell Chromebooks! Every student
has their own Chromebook to use throughout the day, and we are making great use of
them. Students are using Lexia Core 5, ST Math, Accelerated Reader and its companion
AR 360, No Red Ink, Typing Club, Kid Blog, Google Classroom, Google Docs,
Achieve3000, Frontrow Math, and a class favorite - MyOn! Whew! Most of these applications and websites can be accessed at home, and several 3rd grade teachers are assigning them as homework along with their regular homework assignments. So next
time your 3rd grader needs something academic to do at home, have them log in to one
of these applications (with parent supervision) and learn even more!
3rd grade students are also busy practicing their multiplication facts, as well as relating
multiplication and division to each other. If there is one thing their future 4th grade
teachers want them to know, it’s their multiplication facts! Using their multiplication
flashcards and practicing each night (you can even purchase inexpensive multiplication flashcards at the
store) are a great way to help your child learn these key facts. Websites such as Math Magician, multiplication.com, or others (with parent supervision) make learning these multiplication facts fun! Let’s multiply!

4th Grade Section/ Sección del Cuarto Grado
It’s Gold Rush time! Our students have received their scripts for our 4th
grade Gold Rush Extravaganza. We will be practicing the songs for the next
couple of months. You may get tired of hearing them. Auditions won’t be
until April.

5th Grade Section/ Sección del Quinto Grado
5th grade is busy preparing for Middle School. Students are working on research
and essay writing relating to natural disasters. Students will be hosting a “Nature’s
Fury Symposium” to present their findings.
In Math, students are studying and converting between customary and metric
units of measurement. Students should be reading at home 30 minutes EVERY
day, even weekends.
*5 º grado está preparando para la escuela secundaria. Los estudiantes están trabajando
en la investigación y ensayo escrito relativos a los desastres naturales. Los estudiantes serán el anfitrión de un
“Nature’s Fury Symposium” para presentar sus descubrimientos.

Sra. Booher-King
Hello! My name is Mrs. Booher-King. I am one of Beaumont’s kindergarten teacher. I’ve been here at Beaumont since the summer of 2003, but I’ve been a teacher in this District since 1987. Yes, I know…I’m old in
age but not in spirit. Teaching kindergarten keeps me young! Kindergarten students have a special way of
looking at the world around them. I’ve also taught at Alamosa Park and Mission Meadows. Most of my experience has been in kindergarten (24 years if you can believe that), but I’ve also taught 3rd and 4th grade here
at Beaumont. It’s exciting to see the students learn how to use their IPADs and I can’t believe we’ll soon have
one for every student in the class!! I hope that next year I will be blessed with even more parent volunteers to
help keep things running smoothly. Just let me know if you’re willing to volunteer. I can’t wait to see what
next year brings!
*Hola! My nombre es Sra. Booher-King. Soy una de las maestras del Kinder en Beaumont. Estado aquí en Beaumont
desde el verano del 2003, pero he sido una maestra de este distrito desde 1987. Si, yo se...estoy viejita pero no en
espíritu. Ensenando al Kínder me mantiene joven! Los estudiantes del Kinder tienen una manera especial de ver al
mundo a su alrededor. También, eh sido maestra en la escuela de Alamosa Park y Mission Meadows. La mayoría de
mi experiencia a sido en el Kínder (24 anos lo pueden creer!), pero también he dado clases para el 3er y 4to grado
aquí en Beaumont. Es emocionante ver a los estudiantes aprender como usar sus IPADs y no puedo creer que pronto
tendremos uno para cada estudiante en clase!! Espero que para el próximo ano este bendecida con mas padres voluntarios para ayudarme a que todo vaya tranquilo. Nomas avísenme si están dispuestos a ser voluntarios. No puedo

Get to know Mr. Lawrence/ Conozcan al Sr. Lawrence
I am 6th generation Californian, and a 4 generation teacher. I live in Vista with my beautiful wife Jill.
Together we have a blended family of 5 children. Amy 25, Blaine 21, Amanda 19, Ally 16, and Bella
12. We also have a pack of 5 dogs who we consider our “other” five children. I have been teaching 13
years 11 of those here at Beaumont. With my move to Kindergarten I have now taught every grade
level K-5. When I am not teaching I enjoy swimming, reading, golfing, traveling, and working in my
yard. I look forward to Beaumont’s future and the changes that are headed our way
*Yo soy la 6ta generación de Californiano y la 4ta generación de maestro en mi familia. Vivo en vista con mi
hermosa esposa Jill. Juntos hemos juntado a una familia de cinco hijos. Amy de 25, Blanie de 21, Amanda de
19, Ally de 16 y Bella de 12. También tememos cinco perros que también consideramos como “nuestros
hijos”. Eh sido un maestro por los ultimo 13 anos de lo cual 11 han sido aquí en Beaumont. Con mi movida al
grado del Kínder, ya he dado clases de los grados K-5. Cuando yo no estoy dando clases en Beaumont, me
gusta nadar, leer, jugar golf, viajar, y trabajar en mi jardín. Estoy ansioso por el futuro de Beaumont y ver
los cambien que se avecinan.
Get to know Mrs. Clements/ Conozcan a la Sra. Clements
My name is Cyndi Clements and I am very happy to be here at Beaumont. I took a few years
off from teaching full-time to raise my kids and now that they are in middle school and starting
high school, I am thrilled to be back in the classroom full-time. I have always loved being
around children and when I started college at USC I thought I would be a child psychologist,
but after tutoring kids at a local inner-city school I realized I wanted to be a teacher. After
graduating from USC I looked into getting my credential and I have happily found my passion. I hope I get to continue my career at Beaumont for a longtime. In the future, I plan on
completing a second credential and taking conversational Spanish classes with my kids during
the summer. In my free time, I love to read, run, hike, play soccer, and used to do triathlons
before my kid's sports became so demanding. Now the majority of my weekends are spent at
my children's sporting events cheering them on from the sidelines.
* Mi nombre es Cyndi Clements y estoy muy feliz de estar aquí en Beaumont. Me retire un par de
años de la enseñanza para criar a mis hijos tiempo completo y ahora que están en la escuela intermedia y secundaria, estoy encantada de estar en el salón de clases tiempo completo otra ves. Siempre
me ha encantado estar con los niños y cuando empecé en la Universidad USC pensé que sería una
psicóloga infantil, pero después de dar clases a niños en una escuela local del centro de la ciudad me di cuenta de que quería
ser maestra. Después de graduarme de la USC miré a obtener mi credencial y felizmente he encontrado mi pasión. Espero
que pueda continuar mi carrera en Beaumont por mucho tiempo. En el futuro, planeo completar una segunda credencial y
tomar clases de Español para tener conversaciones con mis hijos durante el verano. En mi tiempo libre, me encanta leer,
correr, caminar, jugar al fútbol y solía hacer triatlones antes pero deportes de mi hijo llegó a ser tan exigentes. Ahora la mayoría de los fines de semana es gastada en eventos deportivos de mis hijos, animándoles a desde la barrera.

Get to know Mrs. Stewart/ Conozcan a la Sra. Stewart
My name is Lorena Stewart and I have been a Beaumont Bear since 1991. I started teaching in 1989, putting me at 26 years of service in this honorable profession. I've taught
Kindergarten, First grade, and second grade and am currently the Transitional Kindergarten teacher here at our school (no one was brave enough to take on the littlest bears).
I am a graduate of San Diego State University (go Aztecs!) and received my Master's degree from Grand Canyon University. I have a 22 year old son who will be graduating
from SDSU in May! My husband of 4 years is an amazing chef who owns RedTail Catering (hmm...free advertisement?) Do look us up!!! All I can say is that I LOVE what I
do!!!!
*Mi nombre es Lorena Stewart y he sido una oso de Beaumont desde 1991. Empecé a enseñar
en 1989, que me pone a 26 años de servicio en esta profesión honorable. He enseñado Kínder
y primer grado, segundo grado y actualmente soy la maestra de Kínder transicional aquí en
nuestra escuela (nadie fue lo suficientemente valiente para asumir los osos más pequeños). Soy graduada de la Universidad Estatal de San Diego (vamos aztecas!) y recibí mi maestría de Grand Canyon University. Tengo un hijo de 22

Get to know Mrs. Roberts/ Conozcan a la Sra. Roberts
My name is Lu Ann Roberts and I have taught only here at Beaumont for 24 years,
grades first and second. I have never wanted to teach at another school because of the
great school Beaumont is and the family feeling that is here. My passion is reading and
I am in two book clubs. My love of reading is what I want to pass on to my students. I
am recently married and my husband and I are avid paddle boarders and skiers. We
also enjoy hiking, camping and traveling. I come from a family of educators, my son,
daughter and my brother are all teachers.
*Mi nombre es Lu Ann Roberts y he enseñado solamente aquí en Beaumont durante 24 años
en los grados primeros y segundo. Nunca he querido enseñar en otra escuela debido a la
gran escuela que es Beaumont y el sentimiento de familia que está aquí. Mi pasión es la lectura y estoy en dos clubes de libros. Mi amor por la lectura es lo que quiero transmitir a mis
alumnos. Estoy recién casada y mi esposo y yo somos esquiadores y pensionistas de paleta
ávido. También disfrutamos de senderismo, acampar y viajar. Vengo de una familia de educadores, mi hijo, hija y mi hermano todos son maestros.
Get to know Mrs. Mia Piro/ Conozcan a la Sra. Piro
You rarely hear this, but… I am a native San Diegan. I graduated from San Diego
High and went to SDSU. I transferred to a tiny an college in South Dakota to finish my
credential. From there we moved to Utah, where I taught 7th and 8th grade Science. While living out of state, we had our first son, Dante. Nothing makes you more
homesick than having a baby ! Needless to say, we moved back to San Diego. Back
home, we decided to have another child, Donovan. I spent many years dedicated
to raising my children, being part of the PTA, team mom, concert mom,... I started
back to work as a substitute teacher a few years ago. I knew I missed having a classroom of my own and was ready to go back to work full time. Now I am a Beaumont
Bear and I absolutely adore it here!I plan to spend this summer going to all my favorite beaches and sitting by the pool!
*Rara vez oír esto, pero... Soy una nativa de San Diego. Me gradué de la preparatoria de San
Diego High y fue a SDSU. Me transferí a un colegio pequeño en Dakota del Sur para terminar mi
credencial. A partir de ahí nos mudamos a Utah, donde enseñaba ciencia del 7mo y 8vo grado. Mientras vivía fuera del estado, tuvimos nuestro primer hijo, Dante. Nada te hace más nostálgico que tener un bebé! No hace falta decirlo, volvimos a San
Diego. Estando de nuevo en casa, decidimos tener otro hijo, Donovan. Pasé muchos años dedicados a la cría de mis hijos, ser
parte de la PTA, equipo mamá, concierto... Empecé a trabajar como profesora sustituta hace unos años. Sabía que extrañaba
tener mi propio aula de y estaba lista para volver a trabajar a tiempo completo. Ahora soy un oso de Beaumont y absolutamente lo adoro aquí! Planeo pasar este verano en todas mis playas favoritas y sentada junto a la piscina!

Get to know Mrs. Shaposhnick/ Conozcan a la Sra. Shaposhnick
Hello, I am Dalia Shaposhnick. I attended Cal State San Bernardino for my Bachelors degree then
went on to National University for my teaching credential, Masters and Administrative credential. I
am currently a first grade teacher. I have been here at Beaumont for the past 18 years.
I have taught grades K, 1, 2, 4, and served two years as a TOSA-Administrative Designee. Previous to my elementary experience, I taught Spanish at a private high
school. As I have come to know our wonderful Beaumont community, I’ve been inspired to some day work in Administration.
I have two beautiful children; my daughter Carli, age 14 and son, JD, age 11. I was
born and raised in Northern California and have an appreciation for the outdoors. My
family enjoys camping in our local mountains and the Sierras. Spending time at the
beach for an impromptu bonfire dinner is always a favorite. One of the items on my
“bucket list” is to learn a third language- perhaps French?

luego pase a la Universidad Nacional para mi credencial de enseñanza, maestría y credenciales administrativas. Actualmente soy maestra de primer grado. He estado aquí en Beaumont durante los últimos 18 años. He enseñado grados K, 1, 2, 4 y serví dos años como un
representante administrativa del TOSA. Anterior a mi experiencia elemental, enseñé español en una escuela secundaria privada. Como he llegado a conocer nuestra maravillosa comunidad de Beaumont, he
sido inspirada a un día llegar a trabajar en la administración.
Tengo dos hermosos hijos; mi hija Carli, 14 años y mi hijo, JD, la edad de 11. Nací y crecí en California del
Norte en donde llegue a tener una apreciación para el aire libre. Mi familia goza de camping en nuestras
montañas locales y las sierras. Pasar tiempo en la playa para una cena improvisada y una fogata es siempre un favorito. ¿Uno de los elementos en mi "lista" es aprender una tercera lengua - tal vez francés?
