"If any one comes to me without hating his father and
mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his
own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry
his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple."
"Si alguno quiere seguirme y no me prefiere a su padre y a
su madre, a su esposa y a sus hijos, a sus hermanos y a sus
hermanas, más aún, a sí mismo, no puede ser mi discípulo.
Y el que no carga su cruz y me sigue, no puede ser mi
discípulo".
Reflection: The Gospel includes a description of the work of
building a tower. Jesus compares the calculation of the
work involved to that taking up the cross and being a
disciple. When Philemon became a Christian he may not
have understood that his life might change radically-that he
was expected to deal in a new way with one of his slaves
who became a Christian. At Paul's insistence, Philemon's
adherence to the faith was requiring that he act differently
from the society in which he lived. We are confronted with
the same situation as Philemon. In the workplace, in the
market, in our leisure, and while on vacation, we are called
to adhere to the faith just as we do in church on Sunday.
That is the real work we have, and it is not always an easy
job. We don't have to carry Jesus' cross, but we do have to
carry our own.
Reflecion: Por lo tanto, el cristiano trata de cargar la cruz
con alegría y gracia para poder experimentar el logro
verdadero en la vida. La invitación de Jesús no es broma.
Ésta requiere un arrojo total, perdernos en la dirección
correcta, y un seguimiento activado por las experiencias
mismas de nuestra vida de cristianos. Salgamos pues de
nuestra celebración litúrgica renovados y con el
entusiasmo de acompañar a Jesús no sólo hasta Jerusalén,
sino hasta el calvario mismo. Seamos seguidores de Jesús
completos, no a medias. Al final del Evangelio tenemos la
clave: "Cualquiera de ustedes que no renuncie a todos sus
bienes, no puede ser mi discípulo".

Last Saturday (Aug 28th), St Philip Neri parish sponsored a
food booth at the NESCO sponsored "Feast of Lanterns."
About 8-10 parishioners and I spent the day at Spades Park
at the event. Even though we didn't earn a lot of money, it
gave me an opportunity to meet and chat with others from
various area churches such as Linwood Christian, 10th. St.
United Methodist, Centenary Christian, etc. The thing that
struck me were the stories of outreach ministry each
congregation is doing in our neighborhood, spreading the
gospel and helping so many people. As one of our
members said to me on Sunday, we have to stay focused on
our mission: Jesus and sharing his message. It's amazing
how the Lord always seems to provide, especially when the
resources don't seen to be there.
El sábado pasado (28 de agosto), San Felipe Neri parroquia
patrocinó un puesto de comida en la UNESCO patrocinó
"Fiesta de los Faroles". Acerca de 8-10 feligreses y yo
pasamos el día en el Parque Picas en el evento. A pesar de
que no ganaba mucho dinero, me dio la oportunidad de
conocer y charlar con otros de diversas iglesias de la zona
como Linwood cristiana, 10. San Metodista Unida,
Centenario cristiano, etc Lo que más me impresionó fueron
las historias de ministerio de alcance cada congregación
está haciendo en nuestro barrio, difundir el evangelio y
ayudar a tanta gente. Como uno de nuestros miembros
dijeron a mí en domingo, tenemos que mantenernos
enfocados en nuestra misión: Jesús y compartir su mensaje.
Es increíble cómo el Señor siempre parece facilitar, sobre
todo cuando los recursos no visto para estar allí.

Sept.18 Treasuring Womanhood
Register today for 7th Annual Indiana Catholic Women’s

The Archdiocese has asked that all Parishes organize to be
prepared in the event of a disaster. Would you know what
to do if a disaster were to strike your home, business,
church, neighbors? Could you be of help to others?
Helping the community to be prepared is a great way to put
your faith into action. We would like to invite all of you
over the age of 18 who are interested in being prepared to
join us in this special training. Catholic Charities will provide training, there is no cost to you or to the Parish. Please

Golden Anniversary Mass 2010
All married couples of the Archdiocese who will celebrate
their 50th Wedding Anniversary during 2010 are invited to
the 27th Annual Golden Jubilee Mass at 2:00 p.m. (EDT)
on Sunday October 17th at Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral,
Indianapolis. Couples who already have passed this
milestone are also encouraged to attend. Archbishop Daniel
M. Buechlein, OSB will celebrate the Mass. A reception for
the Jubilarians and their families will follow immediately
after the Mass. The event is free of charge, but registration
is required. Registration forms are available in the parish

ext. 1596. Registration forms can be obtained online at

The Pro-Life Office recruits new volunteers for its
Birthline Ministry throughout the year. Our volunteer
network serves more than 2,000 poor women and babies
annually at the Catholic Center, on Mondays and
Wednesdays, by providing material assistance in the form
of clothing, equipment and supplies. Volunteers are also
needed for the Birthline hotline and scheduling services.
The telephone ministry may be performed in the comfort of
your own home. If you live locally, are energetic and
interested in volunteering for material assistance or the
telephone ministry, contact Sister Diane at 317-236-1521.

BAUTIZOS: Para poder bautizar, se requiere que los papas y padrinos tomen la platica pre-bautismal, después de su
platica recibirán un comprobante con el que pueden apartar su celebración personalmente con el Padre Carlos en la
oficina, usted pueda escoger la fecha que mas le agrade, siempre y cuando este disponible para el Padre. Las pláticas
son los terceros sábados de cada mes, solo tiene que tomar una de ellas, las fechas que puede escoger son: 11 de
septiembre, 16 de octubre, 20 de noviembre y 18 de diciembre del 2010 comenzamos de las 8:45 AM y terminamos a
las 12:15 PM, en el salón de la parroquia. Para asistir a las pláticas tienen que registrarse en la oficina.
ADORACION NOCTURNA: El sábado 4 de septiembre tenemos nuestra adoración nocturna en la Iglesia de las 7:30
a 9:30 PM, te invitamos que después de la misa anotes las intenciones que desees para que nosotros el grupo de
adoración nocturna oremos por ellas, y recuerda que Jesucristo Eucaristía te espera para que estés un momento
especial con El.
HORA SANTA: un miércoles de cada mes nos reunimos para pedir por las vocaciones sacerdotales y por las
necesidades de la parroquia y de sus miembros, te invitamos a que participes 8:00 – 9:00 en la Iglesia, nuestra
próxima reunión será el 29 de septiembre.
CLASES DE CATECISMO: Hemos iniciado clases todos los domingos a partir de las 10:00 a 11:45 AM en el
Gimnasio de la Escuela. Las inscripciones para la primera comunión y confirmación se pueden realizar en la oficina
parroquial o con sus catequistas durante este mes, es REQUISITO OBLIGATORIO que traigan el acta de bautizo,
favor de pagar su cuota de inscripción.
GRUPO DE ORACION: Todos los viernes a partir de las 7:00 PM y terminamos a las 8:30 PM, únete a nuestro
grupo, recuerda que la oración es un medio muy eficaz para estar en cercanía con Jesús.
ACOLITOS, MONAGUILLOS, O SERVIDORES DEL ALTAR: Regístrate después de misa o en la oficina para
que te prepares y puedas ayudar a este servicio. Te estaremos esperando!!!
MISA CON MARIACHI: el Mariachi Sol Jalisciense ha ofrecido tocar la misa del primer domingo de cada mes
gratuitamente, como agradecimiento a Dios y a la Santísima Virgen por los beneficios recibidos. De esta manera
nosotros les hemos ofrecido dar propaganda por su servicio, por lo que aquellas personas que estén interesadas en
contratar sus servicio los numero telefónico son: (317) 435 1282 (317) 340 7244. y para mayor informes tenemos
tarjetas de presentación en la oficina.
CONFESIONES: SE LES INVITA A CONFESARSE TODOS LOS DOMINGOS A PARTIR DE LAS 11-11:30 AM
POR FAVOR LLEGUEN A ESTA HORA PARA NO ATRASAR LA CELEBRACION DE LA MISA.
CONVALIDACION MATRIMONIAL. Probablemente vives con tu pareja, tienes tus hijos, y no tienes el
matrimonio de la Iglesia, hemos abierto la posibilidad de regularizar esta situación, a través de los matrimonios
colectivos que consiste en una ceremonia donde no se requiere las costumbres de casarse con blanco, una gran fiesta
y padrinos para las diferentes cosas que se acostumbran en una ceremonia. Esto será de una manera sencilla y podrá
ser un sábado o domingo de una manera discreta pero con los dones maravillosos del sacramento del matrimonio.
Solo requerimos las actas de bautizo de los contrayentes, una preparación espiritual, una entrevista con nuestro
asociado pastoral y si es el caso una licencia del estado. Si sabes de alguien que esté interesado en esto coméntale y
por supuesto tu anímate y decide llevar una vida sacramental adecuada.
CLINICA DE SAN FELIPE NERI: El Domingo 29 de agosto en el GYM de la escuela a partir de las 9:00 AM – 2:00
PM tendremos por parte del Doctor David Chavarría de la Clínica Génesis revisiones para atender problemas
quiroprácticos, exámenes de glucosa, exámenes médicos y estará proporcionando pases para citas medicas gratis.
*El sábado 4 de septiembre a partir de las 6:00 PM en el centro de Jóvenes Casa Mateo estará realizando exames
gratuitos de (HIV) SIDA, Estos servicios son practicados por profesionales y con la discreción que esto requiere.
*El domingo 5 de septiembre en el GYM de la escuela a partir de las 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM tendremos por parte de la
Clínica Salazar limpiezas dentales gratis a niños menores de 7 años y exámenes dentales para adultos. Además
darán pases para exames generales y promociones para obtener mejores precios en su clínica para rayos X. También
estará un abogado para atender consultas gratis de diferentes casos de migración, legales, etc.
EQUIPO DE FUTBOL SOCCER DE SAN FELIPE NERI: Invitamos a los niños a partir de 7-17 años a participar
en nuestra selección de la Iglesia todos los jueves en el GYM de la escuela a partir de las 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Favor de
registrarse en la oficina parroquial.
COMITÉ GUADALUPANO: Invitamos a tener una reunión el próximo jueves a las 7:00PM en la rectoría para planear nuestra celebración de la Virgen de Guadalupe que esta próxima a celebrar.
