TEXAS VOTERS MUST NOW SHOW ONE OF THE FOLLOWING
FORMS OF PHOTO ID WHEN VOTING IN PERSON
Texas driver's license- unexpired or expired less than 60 days

Election Identification Certificate- if you
do not have any of the
forms of 10 listed above, you may apply for the Election 10 Certificate. This
form of 10 is available at the OPS office at no charge and may be used for
voting purposes only.

Voters should be aware that their name on their voter certificate and their
name on their identification document should be substantially similar. If your
name is not similar, you may contact the Gregg County Elections office to
update your voter registration.
There are a few exemptions to the new rule:
1. If you are voting by mail, you do not have to submit a photo ID.
2. If you have a disability documented by the Social Security Administration or by the
Department of Veterans Affairs, you may apply at the Gregg County Elections office for a
permanent exemption from the photo ID requirement. If accepted, you will not have to
show ID when you go to the polls.
3. If you have no photo ID as a result of a declared natural disaster, or have a religious
objection to being photographed, you may vote a "provisional ballot" at the polls. You will
have 6 days after the election to sign an affidavit at the Elections office to allow your
ballot to be counted.
Voters who do not have an exemption and do not show a photo ID when they vote at the
polls will have to vote a "provisional ballot". They will have 6 days after the election to go
to the Elections office to present a photo ID in order for their ballot to be counted.

VOTANTES TEXANOS VA DEBERAN DE MOSTRAR UNA DE LAS SIGUIENTES FORMAS
DE IDENTIDAD CON FOTO AL VOTAR EN PERSONA
1. Licencia de manejar de Texas - corriente o vendda antes de sesenta (60 dias).
2. Tarjeta de identification personal de Texas, aprobada por el Departamento de
Seguridad Publica (DPS) - corriente o vendda antes de 60 dias.
3. Licencia de portar armas no visibles de Texas - corriente o vendda antes de 60
dias.
4. Pasaporte de E. E. U. A.- corriente o vencida antes de 60 dias.
5. Identification militar de E.E.U.A. con foto - corriente o vendda antes de GO dias.
6. Certificado de ciudadan ia de E.E.U.A. con foto- (nose vence)
7. Certificado de ldentidad de Elecci6n - si ud. no tiene ninguna de las formas aqui
mencionadas, puede obtener Certifica do de ldentidad de Elecci6n. Esta forma de
identidad se consigue en Ia oficina de Departamento de Seguridad Publica (DPS) sin
costa alguno y puede utilizarse na da mas para votar.
Votantes deberan de cuidar que su nombre en su certificado de votar y su nombre en
su documento de identidad debera ser el nombre basicamente parecido. Si su nombre
no es el nombre parecido, podrfa comunicarse con Ia Oficina de Elecdones de
Condado Gregg para cambiar su voto de registro.
Hay unos cambios para Ia nueva regia:
1. AI votar por correo, noes necesario el uso de identidad con foto.
2. Si usted tiene un documento de desabilidad facilitada por Ia Administradon del Seguro Social o
por el Departamento de Asuntos de Veteranos, puede apliqar a Ia Oficina de Votaciones del
Condado Gregg para un permiso permanente requerido con su foto. Si se acepta, no es necesario
mostrar identificacion con foto al rendir su voto en las casilla de votantes.
3. Si ud. no tiene su identidad con foto a consecuencia de algun desastre natural declarado, o su
religion no permite tomar su foto, puede votar en una "balota provisional" en Ia casilla de votos. Se
le facilitaran 6 dias despues de las elecciones para firmar un documento en Ia Oficina de Elecciones
para permitir que se cuente su bal6ta.
Votantes que no tienen exempdon y no muestran identidad con su foto al votar en las casillas, se
les require votar con "balota provisional". Se les facilitaran 6 dias para que presente su identidad
con foto para que su bal6ta sea util.
