Dear Families,
We’re excited to share the events happening at PUC Santa Rosa this October!
There are many ways for you to get involved at home and at our school!
October is National Bullying Awareness Prevention Month. This means we’ll be
talking with your children about what bullying looks like, what to do if they see
bullying, and what they can to do to stop bullying. At PUC Santa Rosa we are
not only focused on making sure that our students are on track for college, we
also want to be sure students are building good habits around making good
choices. We want our students to stand up against bullying!
Thursday, October 13th we’ll hold our second Coffee with the Principal this year.
Please join us for an open dialogue about your questions and concerns. On
Thursday, October 20th we will have our Literacy Family Night from 5-7pm.
During Literacy Family Night you’ll get to learn about our goals for reading,
writing, and you’ll also have the chance to attend a session about how to use
PowerSchool to find out information about how your child is doing in school.
Emergency preparedness is another focus for October as PUC Santa Rosa will
participate in the Great Shake-Out. Millions of people worldwide will practice
how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On at 10:20 a.m. on October 20 when we
conduct an earthquake drill. Although we have emergency drills every month
at our school, this drill is very important because we also ask you to talk
about your emergency plan for your home. Do you have a plan for your
family in the case of an emergency? Do you have emergency supplies? Does
your child know how to reach you if there is an emergency? Please review
the materials in this packet and make a plan with your family.

Queridas familias,
Estamos muy contentos de compartir los acontecimientos que suceden en PUC Santa Rosa
este mes de octubre! Hay muchas maneras para que usted participe en el hogar y en la
escuela!
Octubre es el Mes Nacional de Prevención de la intimidación. Esto significa que vamos a
estar hablando con sus hijos sobre intimidación, qué hacer si ven la intimidación, y lo que
pueden hacer para detener el acoso. En PUC Santa Rosa no sólo estamos enfocados en
asegurar que nuestros estudiantes están en camino a la universidad, también queremos
estar seguros que los estudiantes están construyendo buenos hábitos y haciendo buenas
decisiones. Queremos que nuestros estudiantes se pongan de pie en contra de la
intimidación!
El jueves, 13ª de octubre vamos a celebrar nuestro segundo Café con el Directora de este
año. Por favor, únase a nosotros para un diálogo abierto acerca de sus preguntas y
preocupaciones. El jueves, 20 de octubre vamos a tener nuestra Noche de Literatura
Familiar de 5:00PM-7:00pm. Durante la Noche de literatura Familiar tendrá la oportunidad
de aprender acerca de nuestros objetivos para la lectura, la escritura, y también tendrá la
oportunidad de asistir a una sesión sobre el uso de Power School para obtener información
acerca de cómo su hijo está haciendo en la escuela.

La preparación para emergencias es otro foco de octubre como PUC Santa Rosa participará
en la gran sacudida. Millones de personas en todo el mundo van a practicar cómo
agacharse, cubrirse, y agarrarse a las 10:20 am el 20 de octubre, cuando llevamos a cabo
un ensayo de terremoto. Aunque tenemos simulacros de emergencia cada mes en nuestra
escuela, este ejercicio es muy importante porque nosotros, también pedimos que hable de
su plan de emergencia para su hogar. ¿Tiene un plan para su familia en caso de una
emergencia? ¿Tiene materiales de emergencia? ¿Su hijo sabe cómo comunicarse con usted
si hay una emergencia? Por favor revise los materiales de este paquete y hacer un plan con
su familia.
