2015 Christmas Message

share this Christmas message with all of you especially those who did not receive it by mail because we don’t have your address. May the Lord bless you and keep you during this Feast of Christmas.
Dear friends in Christ:
“God is the Light in which I see.
God is the mind with which I think.
God is the Love in which I forgive.
God is the strength in which I trust.
There is nothing to fear.”
(From “A Course In Miracles” by Helen Schucman)
How fortunate we are to celebrate year after year this great feast of our salvation. God became
one with us in all things but sin in order to understand our own iniquities and frailties. He came to give
us life and to call us to his own divine life. This is the reason of the Mystery of the Incarnation in which
Christ comes to meet us through the great gift of our faith.
In this Jubilee Year of Mercy we rejoice in the fact that the face of God is the very mercy shown
to us in the person of Jesus being born for us as our savior. He is ‘mercy’ so that we in turn become
‘mercy’ for others. Let us receive Jesus this Christmas with the openness and willingness to become merciful ourselves, so that in the world his peace, justice and love may reign.
I want to express my gratitude as your pastor for all your kindness and generosity to the parish.
For always being there for us as we continue to minister to the people entrusted to us. I want to wish
all of you a very happy and a blessed Christmas. May the infant Jesus fill your hearts with his love and
mercy, so that this year will be a special one for you as well as for your loved ones.
“Let us remember that the Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart that thinks of
others first. The birth of the baby Jesus stands as the most significant event in all history, because it has
meant the pouring into a sick world of the healing medicine of love which has transformed all manner

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE….
The blessing of the Door was an experience never seen
or felt before; people are still talking about it. The Church
was packed and the people really got so much out of the
blessing of the Door and the celebration of the Mass.
We felt like we were at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome with
the Bishop as the celebrant and the priests of our parish and the many people present who came from other
parts of the Diocese to witness this event never seen in
our diocese or in our parish before, we made history.
We are very grateful to our bishop for making Saint Margaret a site for the diocese to come as pilgrims and celebrate the Year of Mercy. I hope you feel as proud and
joyful as I do today. Thanks for being there on Sunday.

TONY´S MEMOIRS
I couldn’t believe how many people
attended the Mass on the feast of Our
Lady of Guadalupe. First it was the serenade and the praying of the rosary at
5:00 AM., then the Mass followed after
that and still the church was completely
full. I am sure Our Lady felt good in heaven
seeing she was being honor not only by you but also by
the millions of people throughout the world. Pray to the
Blessed Mother because I know she has a lot of pull in
heaven with her Son. Whatever she asks him she is very
much getting it. I see you had a full week of activities
and you still have the Christmas dinner in the parish.
My only hope is that you get a lot of people. Every year
the master makes the announcement and still does not
get the amount of people he expects for the dinner. I
don’t see why you can’t all get together and coming together at this dinner where you can get to know other
peoples and cultures. We can never be selfish but you
should come together and edify this beautiful parish that
the Creator loves so much. So for the sake of the master
I hope more than two hundred people attend the dinner this weekend. Don’t forget to go to Mass on Christmas day and also your generous Christmas gift to the
parish, you know how much they need your financial
assistance. I know how much you love the parish, so
now you have the opportunity to demonstrate that love
for God and the good priests that serve you. I want to
wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. Woof, woof.
WHAT IS AN INDULGENCE?
My dear friends: Let’s talk about this word that we began to hear this past Sunday as our bishop blessed the
Door of Mercy and told us that we can receive indulgences if we follow what is required for the indulgence
to work in our spiritual lives.The very word stirs up
more misconceptions than perhaps any other teaching
in Catholic theology. Those who attack the Church for
its use of indulgences rely upon—and take advantage
of—the ignorance of both Catholics and non-Catholics.
CHRISTMAS MASS SCHEDULE
Christmas Eve: 5 PM Family Mass English, 8 PM Spanish
Christmas Day: 7:30 AM, 10:30 AM, English
12:15PM Spanish. We hope you will join us in the celebration of the Eucharist during this significant and Holy Day.
What is an indulgence?
The Church explains, “An indulgence is a remission
before God of the temporal punishment due to sins
whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain
defined conditions through the Church’s help when,
as a minister of redemption, she dispenses and applies
with authority the treasury of the satisfactions won by
Christ and the saints” (Indulgentarium Doctrina 1).
To gain the Jubilee indulgence, we must:
a) make a worthy confession,
b) receive Holy Communion,
c)
enter through the Door of Mercy knowing that you are entering through to the presence of
God,
d) recite the creed and pray the Our Father for the intentions of the Holy Father.
This does not mean that you can sin all that you want and
then get the indulgence to have your temporal punishments remove, no. You must be forgiven in confession so
that the indulgence can really work for the good of your
souls. During this Year of Mercy the Church has granted
us the Plenary Indulgence following what is required.
THE YEAR OF MERCY IN OUR PARISH
During the year of Mercy beginning in January as part of
this great yearlong celebration we will have every Tuesday Eucharistic adoration in Church as well as the opportunity to go to Confession from 4:00-6:45 PM. Please
see the schedule for our parish beginning in January.

Because of the Holy Year of Mercy we want to encourage our people to attend Mass more than the Sunday
obligation. It is important that we focus our attention on
the Merciful face of our God which is in Jesus and for
that we need to either read the Scriptures or come to
Mass to hear his word. Please join us every day in the
celebration of the Mass and gain so many graces from
the Word of God as well as from the Eucharistic Table.
Remember we have Mass every day at 8:00 AM in English and 7:00 PM in Spanish on Tuesdays and Fridays.

omparto este mensaje de Navidad con todos ustedes especialmente con aquellos que no recibieron mi
carta por correo esta semana, porque no tenemos su dirección. Que el Señor les bendiga y proteja durante
esta Fiesta de la Navidad.
Queridos amigos en Cristo:
“Dios es la luz en la que veo. Dios es la mente con la que pienso.
Dios es el amor con el que perdono. Dios es la fortaleza en la que confío.
No hay nada que temer” (“A Course In Miracles” por Helen Schucman)
Qué afortunados somos de celebrar año tras año esta grandiosa fiesta de nuestra salvación. Dios
se hizo uno con nosotros menos en el pecado para así comprender nuestras propias inequidades y
flaquezas. Él vino para darnos vida y para llamarnos a su propia vida divina. Esta es la razón del Misterio
de la encarnación en el cual Cristo viene a nuestro encuentro, por medio del gran don de nuestra fe.
En este Año jubilar de la misericordia, nos regocijamos en el hecho de que el rostro de Dios es su
misericordia misma manifestada en la persona de Jesús, que nació para nosotros como nuestro salvador.
Él es ‘misericordia’, para que a su vez nos volvamos ‘misericordia’ para otros. Así que recibamos a Jesús
en esta Navidad con la apertura y disposición suficientes para volvernos misericordiosos, para que así en
el mundo, reinen Su paz, Su justicia y Su amor.
Quiero expresarles mi gratitud como Párroco que soy por toda su bondad, amabilidad y generosidad para con la parroquia, por siempre estar allí para nosotros mientras seguimos ministrando a este
pueblo que se me ha encomendado. Quiero desearles a todos ustedes una muy bendecida y Feliz Navidad. Que el Niño Jesús llene sus corazones con su amor y misericordia, para que este año sea uno muy
especial para todos ustedes así como también para sus seres queridos.
“Recordemos que el corazón navideño es un corazón generoso, abierto de par en par que piensa
primero en los demás. El nacimiento del niño Jesús se presenta como el acontecimiento más importante
de toda la historia, porque ha sido como si se derramara un torrencial de medicina curativa de amor
sobre un mundo enfermo, medicina que ha transformado a todo corazón
desde hace más de dos mil años…Debajo de las haces del corazón, está
ese corazón latiendo por la Navidad”.

QUÉ EXPERIENCIA
La bendición de la Puerta santa fue una experiencia nunca antes vivida, la gente todavía comenta acerca de ese día. La iglesia estaba llena y aprendieron mucho de la bendición de la puerta y de la celebración de
la Misa. Nos sentíamos como si estuviéramos en la Basílica de San Pedro en Roma con el Obispo como celebrante principal y los sacerdotes de la parroquia y muchos otros que se hicieron presentes de otras partes de
la diócesis para ser testigos de algo nunca antes visto en nuestra diócesis ni en nuestra parroquia, así que
hicimos historia. Estamos muy agradecidos con nuestro Obispo, Monseñor Serratelli, por escoger a nuestra parroquia, St. Margaret como sitio de peregrinación en este Año de la misericordia. Espero que ustedes
se sientan tan orgullosos y alegres tanto como yo lo estoy. Gracias a los que estuvieron allí el pasado domingo.
¿ESTÁ LA PARROQUIA EN SU LISTA DE REGALOS DE NAVIDAD?
Espero y oro para que sean muy generosos con la parroquia este año en Navidad. Así como ustedes
dan regalos a aquellos seres queridos en la Navidad, asi deben darle el regalo a la parroquia si verdaderamente quieren a su comunidad parroquial, a sus sacerdotes a todos los que les servimos. Contamos con su generosidad este año para continuar con el funcionamiento de los ministerios en la parroquia.

MEMORIAS DE TONY
Me sorprendió mucho ver que vinieron tantas personas a la Misa de la
Fiesta de Guadalupe. Primero hubo
serenata y rezaron el rosario a las
5:00 AM, luego tuvieron la Misa y el
templo estaba lleno completamente.
Estoy seguro de que Nuestra Señora
se sintió muy bien desde aquí el Cielo viendo cómo la
honraban no solo ustedes sino millones de personas a
la vez en todo el mundo. Recen a la Madre Santísima
porque yo sé que ella tiene muchas influencias con su
Hijo. Lo que ella le pida a él de seguro lo consigue.
Veo que han tenido una semana llena de actividades
y aún les queda la Cena de navidad de la parroquia.
Mi deseo es que vengan muchas personas. El amo cada
año anuncia la cena y no llega la cantidad de personas
suficientes para la cena. No entiendo por que ustedes
no se reúnen viniendo a la cena y asi se conocen entre ustedes, las otras culturas y personas. No deben ser
egoístas, deben unirse y edificar esta hermosa parroquia
que el Creador ama tanto. Por el bien del amo y de la
parroquia espero que vayan más de 200 personas a la
cena de este fin de semana. No olviden venir a Misa
el Día de Navidad y además recuerden ser generosos
con su regalo de Navidad para con la parroquia, pues
ustedes saben cuánto necesita la parroquia de su ayuda
económica para sobrevivir. Sé cuánto quieren ustedes
a la parroquia así que ahora tienen la oportunidad de

¿QUÉ ES UNA INDULGENCIA?
Mis queridos amigos: Hablemos un poco sobre esta palabra que se empezó a escuchar desde el pasado domingo, cuando el Señor Obispo bendijo la Puerta santa y nos
dijo que nosotros podíamos recibir indulgencias buenas
para nuestra vida espiritual. La palabra se presta para conceptos erróneos más que cualquier otra enseñanza de la
teología católica. Aquellos que atacan la Iglesia por confiar en el uso de las indulgencias y aprovecharse de estas,
se valen de la ignorancia de los católicos y no católicos.

¿Qué es una indulgencia?
La iglesia nos explica que: “La Indulgencia es la remisión ante Dios de la pena temporal por los pecados, ya
perdonados en lo referente a la culpa que gana el fiel,
convenientemente preparado, en ciertas y determinadas condiciones, con la ayuda de la Iglesia, que, como
administradora de la redención, dispensa y aplica con
plena autoridad el tesoro de los méritos de Cristo y de
los santos” (Norma 1, Indulgentarium Doctrina).
EL AÑO DE LA MISERICORDIA
EN NUESTRA PARROQUIA
Durante este Año de la misericordia, comenzando en enero, como parte de esta grandiosa celebración durante
todo el año,, todos los martes tendremos adoración eucarística del Santísimo Sacramento y además la oportunidad de venir a la confesión de 4 a 6:45 PM. Por
favor recorte este mensaje para que tenga presente
nuestra programación parroquial empezando en enero:
Misa en inglés – Lunes a viernes 8AM, santo rosario
después de Misa
Para ganar la indulgencia en este año jubilar de la misericordia debemos:
a.
Ir a la confesión y hacer una confesión digna
b.
Recibir la Sagrada comunión
c.
Pasar por la puerta santa sabiendo que estamos
entrando a la presencia de Dios
d.
Rezar el Credo y el Padre Nuestro por las intenciones del Santo Padre.
Esto no significa que podemos pecar todo lo que
deseemos y recibamos la indulgencia para remover
esos pecados temporales, ¡no!. Deben ser perdonados
primero en la confesión para que la indulgencia obre
en nosotros para el bien de nuestras almas. Durante
este Año de la misericordia la iglesia nos ha otorgado
la indulgencia plenaria, siguiendo las indicaciones que
les acabo de compartir.

los martes de 3 a 8 PM (confesiones a partir de las 4pm)
Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento los martes de 3:45
a 6:45PM y confesiones de 4 a 6:45PM
Los sábados habrá confesiones de 3:45-4:45 PM
El primer sábado de cada mes habrá Misa para los enfermos a las 10 AM.
MISA DIARIA
Debido al Año de la misericordia les animamos a todos
a venir a Misa no solo los domingos y además venir entre semana. Es importante que enfoquemos nuestra atención hacia el rostro misericordioso de nuestro Dios en
Jesús y debemos leer más las Escrituras y venir a Misa
más frecuente para escuchar Su Palabra. Acompáñenos a la celebración de la Santa Misa entre semana
para que reciban muchas gracias de la Palabra de Dios
y de la Mesa eucarística. Misa de lunes a sábado a las
8AM en ingles y martes y viernes a las 7PM en español.
