Structure of the Area of Evaluation of RDI The Area of Evaluation of Research, Development and Innovation of the DEVA is formed by the Director of Evaluation and Accreditation, the manager of the Area of Evaluation of RDI, the Scientific-Technical Area Committees and technical specialists. The area manager coordinates the evaluation of the research, development and innovation activities carried out by the DEVA, and, within its competences, it is also responsible for advising and collaborating with the Director of Evaluation and Accreditation. A total of 15 renowned scientists collaborate with these tasks, forming the Technical Committee for Evaluation and Accreditation. There are 16 Area Committees covering the 9 Scientific and Technical Areas of the PAIDI (Andalusian Plan of Research, Development and Innovation) through which the Andalusian System of Knowledge is articulated. Some of these Areas include two or three Committees due to the largeness of the thematic areas within them. These collaborators are renowned scientists based in research centres outside Andalusia. The appointment of coordinators and collaborators is for a set period of 4 years. The coordinator nominates the members of his/her team taking into account their experience and knowledge in the area of the applications to be evaluated, and is responsible for the coordination of the evaluation process. The collaborators have to meet the requirement of having at least two six-year research periods acknowledged (productivity bonuses). Their function is to manage a number of incentives, between 8 and 12. The management tasks include the selection of external evaluators, the evaluation of the assigned incentives itself, and the elaboration of the respective reports. The applications are prioritised at a Committee meeting in the DEVA headquarters.
