I have been asked to serve, Lord,
and I have agreed.
Me han invitado a servir, Señor
Y he dicho que sí.
Help me to know my fellow
Council members:
their gifts,
their concerns,
their lives.
Ayúdame a conocer
mis colegas en el Concejo:
sus dones,
sus preocupaciones,
sus vidas.
I am doing your work, Lord,
and your love for me
and for them
is,
above all,
personal.
Estoy haciendo tu obra, Señor,
y tu amor para mi
y para ellos
es,
sobre todo,
personal.
Help me to welcome conflict
as a sign of the diversity
in this Council,
as an opportunity to reach
for creative solutions.
Ayúdame a dar la bienvenida al
conflicto
como una señal de la diversidad
en este Concejo,
como una oportunidad para
alcanzar
soluciones creativas.
Help me to recognize this
diversity
as a sign of your capacity to love
us all
and to help me cherish it as a
great strength
Ayúdame a reconocer esta
diversidad
como una señal

como una fuerza grande.
Help me to approach issues
with an open, inquiring mind,
free from prejudice,
with my spirit depending on yours
for strength to make hard
decisions.

Help me to listen;
to know when and to whom I
should listen

gifts
to promote thorough, thoughtful
discussion
of important concerns in our
Catholic community
Ayúdame a usar mis propios
dones
para promover intercambios
profundos y sensibles,
de las preocupaciones importantes
en nuestra comunidad católica.
Help me to develop
my skills as a peacemaker,
to know how and when
to dedicate,
to conciliate,
to negotiate.
Ayúdame a desarrollar
mis destrezas como un conciliador,
para saber cómo y cuando
dedicar,
conciliar,
llegar a un acuerdo mutuo.
Help me to enjoy doing your work
and to remember your promise:
whenever two of us are gathered in
your name,
you are with us.
Ayúdame a disfrutarme
en hacer tu trabajo
y a recordar tu promesa:
Pues donde están dos o tres
reunidos en mi Nombre, allí estoy
yo, en medio de ellos.»
