Álvaro es un joven profesor universitario que atraviesa un momento particular de su vida: tras el fin de
una relación amorosa, apremiado por problemas de salud, se ve compelido a buscar alguna fuente de
placer. En esa búsqueda, se reencuentra con antiguas amistades y deseos olvidados; el film construye
historias fragmentarias y personajes complejos, en ambientes en los que se ven contrastados el tedio
con el entusiasmo, la hipocresía con los encuentros significativos. El relato alterna la lentitud de los
tiempos muertos con el humor y el vértigo de los encuentros nocturnos, creando un ritmo que conduce
al espectador por una historia que no busca respuestas fáciles, donde los cabos no se atan sino que
dejan muchas posibilidades abiertas. Desde un comienzo, el director Peralta se propuso aprovechar para
la realización de su película, de la nueva situación de la producción audiovisual: más democrática, más
barata y con mayores posibilidades de difusión. Filmado con escaso presupuesto y un tiempo de rodaje
de sólo siete días, el film, sin embargo, está dotado de una gran belleza visual, diálogos inteligentes y
sólidas actuaciones.
Álvaro is a young university professor who is going through a special time in his life: after the end of a love
relationship, burdened by health troubles, he is bound to find some source of pleasure. In this search, he
meets with some old friends and forgotten desires; the film constructs fragmented stories and complex
characters, in environments that contrast tedium with enthusiasm, hypocrisy with meaningful encounters. The tale alternates the slowness of dead time with humor and the vertigo of the night encounters,
creating a rhythm that takes the audience into a story which isn’t looking for easy answers, where there
are some loose ends that leave many possibilities open. From the beginning, the director Peralta took all
advantage of the new reality of the audiovisual production: more democratic, cheaper and with greater
diffusion possibilities. Filmed on a tight budget and only on seven days, the film, nevertheless, has great
visual beauty, intelligent dialog and solid performances.

músicos chilenos. Su primer largometraje Mejor
no fumes (2011) recorrió múltiples festivales, en
los que recibió galardones y excelente crítica.
Actualmente se desempeña como director y
post productor de programas culturales en la
televisión .

music videos for Chilean musicians. His first
feature Mejor no fumes (2011) was seen on
multiple festivals, in which it obtained awards
and great reviews. Currently, he is working as
director and post-producing cultural television
programs.
