Acknowledgements
I thank God and life for having shown me the way I was meant to follow in order to discover and
fall in love with linguistics, a most beautiful field. I thank my grandparents, because they taught
me to always follow my dreams and fight for what I believe in. My grandfather, specially, is a
clear example that even when the circumstances appear to be against us, if we are determined
and convinced, we can achieve everything. I will never forget what he once told me: “For God
nothing is impossible”, he truly believes in that, and because of him I believe that for us humans
almost nothing is impossible either, it is only a matter of wanting and going for it. I also want to
thank my mother and my grandmother because they showed me that in a world of men, women
can achieve great things be it out of love, out of conviction, out of obligation, or simply out of
desire. I want to thank my parents because they have always been there for me and my brother,
because they have supported us in the good and the bad times, because they have done their
best in raising us, because they have always wanted to provide us with the tools that will make
us better in every aspect, and because they have dedicated their lives and their achievements to
our well being. I thank them simply for being my parents, I am sure I could not be more blessed.
I also thank my teachers, because their standards were always high and thus drove me to be
better as a student. I thank them all for sharing their knowledge and for always being an
example to follow. I wish to thank my friends for sharing sad and happy moments with me, and
especially for still being my friends regardless of all that I missed while I worked on this project.
Finally, I want to dedicate a special acknowledgment to my friend Luis Erick Coy Aceves,
because he helped me with the data collection process, and therefore he was an important
factor in the realization of this thesis.

Agradecimientos
Primero que nada, quiero agradecer a mi amigo Luis Erick Coy Aceves por ser parte
importante para la realización de este proyecto, puesto que me ayudó en el proceso de la
recolección de datos. Por otro lado, agradezco a mis amigos por los momentos
compartidos, y sobre todo por seguir siendo mis amigos a pesar de todas las veces que
dije: “No puedo, tengo que hacer mi tesis”. Agradezco también a mis maestras por ser
siempre exigentes, por compartir sus conocimientos y por ser un gran ejemplo a seguir.
Por otro lado, le agradezco a Dios y a la vida por haberme puesto en el camino indicado
para descubrir y enamorarme de la lingüística. En seguida, agradezco a mis abuelos
porque siempre me han enseñado a seguir mis sueños y a luchar por lo que creo. Mi
abuelo, sobretodo, ha demostrado que sin importar cuán adversas sean las
circunstancias, si existe la convicción y la determinación suficientes, no hay razón para no
alcanzar aquello que nos hemos propuesto. Nunca olvidaré aquella vez en que me dijo:
“Para Dios nada es imposible”. Él lo cree fervientemente, y gracias a él, creo que para los
humanos prácticamente nada es imposible, todo es cuestión de querer. También quisiera
agradecer a mi mamá y a mi abuelita porque me han demostrado que en un mundo de
hombres, las mujeres son capaces de lograr un sinfín de cosas, ya sea por amor, por
convicción, por obligación, o simplemente por gusto.
Por otro lado, quiero agradecer a mis padres porque siempre han estado ahí para mi
hermano y para mí, porque nos han apoyado en las buenas y en las malas, porque han
puesto lo mejor de sí para educarnos, porque siempre han tratado de darnos todas las
herramientas necesarias para ser personas íntegras, y porque sus vidas y sus logros han
estado dedicados a nuestro bienestar. Les agradezco el simple hecho de ser mis padres,
estoy segura de que no podría tener mayor bendición.
