Claudio is in love with Hero, although he is scared to tell her. Don Pedro, Claudio’s friend, offers to help him. But Don John, Don Pedro’s brother, organises a plot to make Claudio think Hero is unfaithful. As a result, Claudio’s love for Hero is turned to hatred and a desire for revenge. • Benedick and Beatrice claim that they will never marry, Don Pedro decides to make them fall in love. His plan succeeds and they end up being genuinely in love with each other.
