Infant Baptism Schedule
Horario de Bautismo Infantil
Before Your Child’s Baptism:

A copy of your child’s County Birth Certificate (NOT an
Abstract of Birth) must be presented to the office, preferably
at the interview appointment with Mom and Dad.
Hospital certificate is not accepted.

God-parents play an important role in your child’s faith life.
Therefore, it is important that they be active members in their
Catholic Church, attending weekly Sunday Mass. They must
have received all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation) and lead a life in faith. God-parents may
be single and at least 16 years old or married in the Catholic
church. You may chose one or two godparents. If you choose
two, they must be one male and one female. They may NOT be
the child’s own parents.

Parents and godparents must obtain a letter of eligibility from
their parish, if they are not registered at Our Lady of the Desert
Church.
Baptism Formation Class:
 Parents and godparents must attend a formation class.
 Please DO NOT bring your children to the formation class. Plan
ahead and make arrangements accordingly.
Baptism Day:
 It is important that your child wear white. The white garment is
an important symbol for purity.
 Families will need to provide a white Baptismal candle.
Additional Information:
 Suggested donation of $50
 Please be on time for both class and Baptism.

Antes del Bautismo de su Niño/a lo Siguiente es Necesario:

Una copia de la Acta de Nacimiento del Condado. No se acepta
ningún documento temporal. Certificado de nacimiento del
hospital no es aceptado. Acta de nacimiento debe ser
presentada el día de la cita de entrevista con la Mama y el
Papa del niño/a que sera bautizado.

Padrinos formaran una parte muy importante en la vida
Cristiana de su hijo/a, por lo tanto es su obligación. Elegir a
Los Padrinos que serán un modelo en le Fe Católica de su
hijo/a. De igual manera es necesario que estén al día con
todos los sacramentos de iniciación (Bautismo, Primera
Comunión, Confirmación) para que sean lideres de la
jornada que su hijo/a comenzara. Es muy importante que
los Padrinos sean mayor de 16 años, si elige una pareja
deberán ser hombre y mujer y casados por la Iglesia
Católica. No es un requerimiento tener dos Padrinos.
Papa y Mama no pueden apadrinar a su proprio hijo/a.

Padres de familia y Padrinos deberán obtener una carta de
permiso. Si están registrados en otra Parroquia.
Formación Pre Bautismal
 Padres de familia y Padrinos deben asistir a la formación.
 NO se permiten niños en esta formación, por favor plane con
tiempo
Día del Bautismo
 Es importante que la vestidura de su niño/a sea blanca, este
color blanco es un símbolo de pureza.
 Las familias son responsables de traer la vela blanca Bautismal.

 Sugerimos una donación de $50
 Por favor de ser punctual a la noche de formación y al día del
Bautismo.
