Study Session of Youth Peace Ambassadors
working as activists for peace
CALL FOR APPLİCATİONS
Dates: 16-23 March 2014
Venue: European Youth Centre Budapest, Hungary
The Youth Peace Ambassadors (YPA) Network presents the study session which will take place in
Budapest from 16th till 23rd of March 2014. All the enthusiastic, active young people, youth leaders and
activists are welcome to apply.
The YPA Network, as an informal network of young peace builders across Europe, develops a culture of
peace by empowering young people, promoting human rights, dignity, equality and respect of diversity
through education, advocacy and other actions. We have been working as young activitist mostly on
national, but in a number of cases also on international level towards our mission.
This study session is not an exception and by organising it we aim to create a space where members of
the YPA Network will encounter with an equal number of activists from other organizations in order to
develop our skills and experiences as activists and use them when working on further actions together.
In the light of the information above, during the study session we would like to focus on:

identifing how the human rights violations manifest in the communities of participants;
offering participants a space to share their challenges, achievements and good practices in peace
building initiatives at local level;
exploring various and creative examples of activism that could be used in order to enhance
conflict transformation and peace-building at local, national and international level;
strengthening the network of Youth Peace Ambassadors and developing common actions of its
members and other participants to take action against human rights violations;
inspiring and empowering participants to work together with young people and work toward
realisation of the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network mission.

10th of January 2014.
The study session is organized with the support of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe.
Travel, accommodation and food will be covered, there is only 50 euro of participation fee.
