Driving south from Florence and crossing the beautiful hills of Chianti we will first reach San Gimignano, a picturesque,
fascinating medieval town declared a World heritage Site by UNESCO and famous for its white wine, the world renowned
Vernaccia.
The visit is free for independent sightseeing. You will have time to wind your way through the narrow streets and to
admire the relaxing landscape surrounding the village.
Our day will continue to Siena, the Medieval town with the suggestive Piazza del Campo famous for the Palio and for
being one of the most splendid examples of Gothic civil architecture in the world. Here stands the magnificent Palazzo
Pubblico with its tower Torre del Mangia. We will continue on the direction of the Duomo, one of the most fascinating
Italian churches in Gothic style. We will then proceed to Monteriggioni, a medieval town which conforms almost
perfectly to the archetypal mental image that most of us have of a medieval village. The town walls and towers are
almost intact, and the view from downhill is quiet astonishing. In the afternoon we will move to the Chianti area with its
impressive picture-postcard landscape and in a famous wine estate you will taste the best Chianti red wine along with
home-made snacks. Possibility of buying wine, oil, balsamic vinegar, cheese and aromatic herbs at advantageous prices.

Desplazandose hacia el sur desde Florencia y atraversando las sugestivas Colinas del Chianti, alcanzaremos San

Nuestra excursión continuará hacia Siena, la ciudad medieval conocida por su característica arquitectura gótica civil
ejemplificada en el palacio público con la Torre del Mangia, situado en la sugestiva Plaza del Campo. Continuaremos
la visita en una de las iglesias italianas de éstilo románico – gótico más admiradas, el Duomo, visitando también su
interior – con sus grandes naves y magnificas proporciones – y la Libreria Piccolomini. Dejaremos Siena para
desplazarnos hacia Monteriggioni, un pequeño pueblo que se ajusta perfectamente a la imagen arquetípica que la
mayoría de nosotros tiene de una aldea amurallada. Las murallas y las torres se conservan casi intactos y la vista desde
abajo es sorprendente.
