CANDIDATE FOR
MEMBER OF THE GOVERNING BOARD
CLARKDALE-JEROME ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
DISTRICT #3
My name is Irma Dale Williams, but everyone knows me as Dale. I ask for your
vote to re- elect me to the Governing Board of Clarkdale-Jerome Elementary School
District #3, so that I may continue to serve the school that is so important to this
community and has been equally important to me and my two sons.
I was born and raised in Clarkdale, and my family has lived in this area for nearly a
century. Both of my sons attended the school and later graduated from Mingus Union
High School. Over the years, I have seen Clarkdale-Jerome School grow to become one
of Arizona's top-rated K-8 schools and a source of great pride for residents, students,
teachers, and administrators alike.
For the past 12 years, I have been a member of the Governing Board, and for 4 years
I also served as Board President. Additionally, I have worked in the Guidance Office at
Mingus Union High School for 27 years. As a result, I fully understand the challenges
our school and so many others face -an understanding that comes not from the outside
looking but from the inside looking out.
No one can deny that Arizona's schools are struggling. However, I am honored to
have had the opportunity to help Clarkdale-Jerome School meet the challenges. I
believe that my experience as a parent, long-time board member, and Guidance Office
employee at Mingus give me the kind of insight that is needed if we are to maintain and,
yes, improve the quality of education our students receive. I look forward to being able
to contribute that insight.
As K-8 schools go, Clarkdale-Jerome is certainly not large. But while it may be
a small school, academically it is indeed large in stature. Your vote to retain me as a
member of the Governing Board will give me the chance to continue to assure that
stature.

Mi nombre es Irma Dale Williams, pero todos me conocen por Dale. Solicito su voto
para ser elegida de nuevo al Concejo Escolar de Clarkdale Jerome Elementary School District
#3, para poder continuar sirviendo a la escuela que es muy importante para esta comunidad y
ha sido igual de importante para mí y para mis dos hijos.
Yo nací y me cree en Clarkdale, mi familia ha vivido en esta región por casi un siglo. Ambos de
mis dos hijos asistieron a la escuela y luego se recibieron de Mingas Unión High School. Sobre los años
pasados, yo he visto a la Clarkdale-Jerome School convertirse en una de las escuelas de alta
clasificación K-8 de Arizona y una fuente de gran orgullo de los residentes, estudiantes, profesores, y
así como los administradores.
Por los últimos 12 años pasados, yo he sido miembro del Consejo Escolar, y por 4 años yo
también serví como Presidenta del Consejo. Adicionalmente, he trabajado en la Oficina de Orientación
de Mingus Union High School por 27 años. Como resultado, yo entiendo completamente los desafíos
que nuestra escuela y muchas otras enfrentan – un entendimiento que resulta no de observar de afuera
sino advertencia de adentro.
Nadie puede negar que las escuelas de Arizona estén luchando. Sin embargo, tengo el honor de
haber tenido la oportunidad de ayudar a la Clarkdale-Jerome School enfrentar estos desafíos. Yo creo
que mi experiencia como madre, miembro del consejo de mucho tiempo, y empleada de la Oficina de
Orientación de Mingus me obsequian el tipo de perspicacia necesaria si es que vamos a mantener y,
por su puesto, mejorar la calidad de la educación que nuestros estudiantes reciban. Anticipo poder
contribuir esa perspicacia.
En cuanto las escuelas K-8, Clarkdale-Jerome por cierto no es grande. Pero mientras que sea
una escuela pequeña, académicamente por seguro es grande en talla. Su voto para retenerme como
miembro del Consejo Escolar me dará la oportunidad de continuar en asegurar esa talla.
