Ezra’s instructions to the people show us that God does not forbid us from
enjoying the good things in life, he wants us to be happy! However, He expects
us to generously share our blessings with those who are in need, without
expecting anything in return.
One of the things I remember from my childhood was when I did
something wrong, my mother would often say: “Why did you do
that? How would you like it if someone did that to you?” In other
words before you do that again, first think about how you would
feel if you were on the receiving end of your action. Or better, it
was the golden rule, or walking in another’s moccasins, and it is an
early lesson I still, after all these years, often recall.
The French philosopher and writer Voltaire tells of a king whose
favorite horse was lost, so he offered a reward for finding it. Many
wise men tried and failed, but a simpleton in his court found it and
brought it back. 'How did you do it?' asked the king. The man
replied, 'I thought, if I were a horse where would I go? Putting
myself in his place, I soon found him!'
Compassion is just putting yourself in the other person's place! It
is asking God to help you understand what is really going on with
them; hearing what they are not saying as well as what they are;
understanding that their anger is only masking their fear; that they
are crying out for help in the only way they know. Before Peter
denied his Lord, Jesus said to him: .”..and once you have turned
back, strengthen your brothers”' When grace touches your life,
you will always reach back for others!
We should always quit acting as if we made it all on our own. No
one is a self-made success. It was God's grace that brought us
through, right? So we are to go ahead and reach out to others in
love. If they reject us they will only push us closer to the crucified
life. If they accept us tell them, 'whatever you need, God has it. In
spite of your circumstances it can be done, and I'll stand with you
until it is.' The heart of the Gospel is that God loved us enough to
come to where we were, so that we would love others enough to go
to where they are. A good lesson for us in this Jubilee Year of
Mercy. Let us show mercy as mercy has been shown to us by our
God.

CARTA DE NUESTRO PÁRROCO
Queridos Parroquianos,
Una de las cosas que recuerdo de mi infancia es que cuando hacía
algo mal, mi madre a menudo decía: "¿por qué hiciste eso? ¿¿Te
gusta que alguien te lo hiciera a ti?" En otras palabras antes de
hacer eso otra vez, primero piensa en cómo te sentirías si alguien
te hiciera a ti lo mismo. O mejor, era la regla de oro, o deberías
caminar en sus zapatos, fue una lección temprana, que después de
todos estos años, a menudo la recuerdo.
El filósofo y escritor franceses Voltaire habla de un rey cuyo
caballo favorito se perdió, por lo que ofreció una recompensa por
encontrarlo. Muchos sabios intentaron y fallaron, pero un simplón
de su corte lo encontró y lo trajo de vuelta. 'Usted ¿cómo lo
encontró?', preguntó el rey. El hombre respondió, ' pensé, si yo
fuera un caballo ¿a dónde iría? ¡Me puse en su lugar, y pronto lo
encontré!'
¡Compasión es ponerse en el lugar de la otra persona! Es pedirle a
Dios que te ayude a entender lo que realmente sucede con ella; oír
lo que dice la persona no decir como es la persona; entender que
su ira sólo es por no querer enfrentar su miedo, que ello está
clamando por ayuda de la única manera que sabe. Mucho antes
Pedro negó a su Señor, Jesús Y él le dijo: “... y una vez que has
vuelto, fortalece a tus hermanos" ¡cuando la gracia toca tu vida,
siempre llegará para otros!
Debemos siempre dejar de actuar como si lo hiciéramos por
nuestra cuenta. No es un éxito de uno mismo. ¿Fue la gracia de
Dios que nos trajo a través de Él? Así que a seguir adelante y
alcanzar a otros con su amor. Si nos rechazan sólo nos empujarán
más cerca de la vida crucificada. Si aceptan solo diles, ' lo que tú
necesitas, Dios lo tiene. A pesar de las circunstancias se puede
hacer, y yo estoy contigo hasta que sea ' El corazón del Evangelio
es que Dios nos amó lo suficiente como para llegar a donde
estábamos, así que nos encantaría hacer lo suficiente con mucho
amor para ir a donde estás. Una buena lección para nosotros en
este año jubilar de la misericordia. Mostremos misericordia como
ha mostrado misericordia a nosotros nuestro Dios.

presentados el Parroquia de, Nuestra Señora de la Natividad de María, mara el
lazo matrimonial que se llevará acabo en el mes de marzo del presenta Año, en

¿POR QUE LOS PADRINOS Y MADRINAS DE BAUTISMO
TIENEN QUE ESTAR CASADOS POR LA IGLESIA? El ser
padrino o madrina, no solo de Bautismo, sino de cualquier
Sacramento, representa a la misma Iglesia. No es solo porque es
alguien de la familia, conocido, o el que va a pagar la fiesta. Los
padrinos y madrinas, representan en ese momento a nuestra Iglesia.
Y si la representan lo deben hacer de manera completa. Tenemos
muy seguido solicitudes para bautizar pidiendo que alguna pareja
que están casados solo por la ley civil y no por la Iglesia, sean los
padrinos. La respuesta es NO pueden, porque entonces NO están
representando completamente a la Iglesia. No juzgamos por que si o
por que no se han casado por la Iglesia, eso es algo personal, pero si
están queriendo ser padrinos por la Iglesia es porque van a dar
ejemplo de vida a su ahijado(a) viviendo su fe y recibiendo sus
sacramentos. El ahijado o ahijada esta “viendo” en sus padrinos que
el Sacramento del Matrimonio no es necesario, y la realidad es que
necesitamos a Dios en nuestras vidas y dar ejemplo de su presencia
en todo lo que hacemos. Si invitando a Dios al casarnos por la Iglesia,
nos va como nos va, que pasa si no lo tenemos?

I. THE JUST ONE
Isaiah said, “Of the increase of His government and peace, there shall be no end,
and to establish it with justice and judgment from henceforth even forever” (Isaiah 9:7).
II. OUR EMANCIPATOR
This word means to be delivered. In Christ’s first sermon is Nazareth, He said, I
am sent to deliver the captive from bondage.” If the Son set you free ye shall be free
indeed.”
III. THE SIN BEARER
“The Lord hath lied upon Him the iniquity of us all” Isaiah 53:6. “When He had
purged our sins, He sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High” (Hebrews
1:3). Jesus was the scapegoat to carry our sins away.
IV.THE UNDERSTANDABLE FRIEND
Jesus said to His disciples, “I call you not strangers but friends.” He is a friend
that sticketh closer than a brother.
V. THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD
“Thou shalt call His name Jesus and He shall save His people from their sins”
(Matthew 1:21). “For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which is
lost” (Luke 19:10).

América Latina y el Caribe enfrentan muchos desafíos cuando se
trata de compartir su fe. Sin embargo, siempre hay una luz que los
alumbra y les da esperanza. En la Diócesis de San Miguel, en El
Salvador, los jóvenes de la Parroquia de la Sagrada Familia se
afrontan grandes riesgos debido a la violencia y la actividad de las
pandillas. Por ello, la parroquia creó un programa de enriquecimiento
y liderazgo para la juventud para responder a la necesidad de los
jóvenes de contar con talentos de análisis crítico y una educación en
valores. La parroquia espera ayudar a estos jóvenes que viven en
zonas muy vulnerables y crear una cultura de solidaridad y de paz
dentro de sus vecindarios. En la parroquia participa un grupo de 75
jóvenes adultos quienes se convertirán en líderes juveniles para
propagar el mensaje del evangelio en sus vecindarios y poner fin al
ciclo de violencia. ¡Muchas gracias por sus donaciones!

de este Sacramento. La ya próxima estación de Cuaresma es una
oportunidad para cambiar en nuestra vida. Confiésate y pide perdón
por tus pecados! De todos modos Dios los conoce, ¿Por que no
hacer equipo con El y juntos cambiar para ser mejores? Te
esperamos con toda tu familia.
¿POR QUE EN ESTADOS UNIDOS ES TAN IMPORTANTE SER
MIEMBRO REGISTRADO DE UNA IGLESIA? En nuestra Arquidiócesis
de Galveston-Houston, se nos sugiere que seamos miembros registrados de
la parroquia a la que acudimos con frecuencia. Los beneficios de ser miembro
registrado de San Jeronimo incluyen: Recibir sacramentos tales como
bautizos, matrimonio - Recibir bendición de quinceañeras Misas de Funeral Visita y comunión a los enfermos confinados en sus hogares o en hospitales
del area. San Jerónimo mantiene un archivo de su membresía y donaciones
para si en alguna ocasión necesita una carta de recomendación (para
migración). Al final del año, le enviamos por correo un estado de cuenta de
sus donaciones para que haga su deducción en los impuestos/IRS. Descuento

de su sobre. Y en cuanto a nosotros, este registro nos sirve para saber a
cuantas familias servimos. Es muy importante dar un ejemplo positivo a
nuestros hijos. Esta práctica se puede pasar de generación en generación. Lo
invitamos a que seriamente reconsidere el registrarse en San Jerónimo el
tercer domingo de cada mes después de la Misa de 12 medio día.

Silent Lenten Retreat "Jesus Christ Wants to be with Us!", with Rev
