Volunteer Orientation Meeting
The next Volunteer Orientation Meeting will take place on Monday, November 21, at 7 pm in the auditorium. Parents who would like to volunteer
must have completed this course (with fingerprints) within the last 5 years.

any questions.
Substitute School Counselor
Mrs. Sanchez, our school counselor, is due to have her first child in a couple
of weeks. She is planning to take a twelve week maternity leave. During that
time, Mrs. Connie Rodriguez-Leyrer, our former school counselor, will be
available to assist parents and students with counseling needs. Please look
for her contact information and the hours she will be in the office in next
week’s Academy Dispatch.
Thanksgiving Service Babysitting Sign Up
It’s already November, and that means Thanksgiving is just around the
corner! There will be several special opportunities for you to worship at
school during the week of Thanksgiving. Free babysitting for children one
year and older will be available during the elementary and early childhood
services. The babysitting will be supervised by 8th grade students and a
teacher. You can sign up for this opportunity by clicking the link below, but
hurry! Space is limited to the first 10 children to be signed up per service,
and you must be registered by Monday, November 21.

Thanksgiving Early Release Schedule
Please note that there is no aftercare on early release days. This means that
there will be no aftercare on Wednesday, November 23. Dismissal times for
each grade on that day are the following:
* PreK-3 through Kindergarten: 12:35 pm
* 1st through 3rd Grade: 12:55 pm
* 4th and 5th Grade: 1:15 pm
* Middle and High School: 1:35 pm
DSA Spirit Day
This Friday, November 18 will be DSA Spirit Day. All students can show
their Shark pride by wearing jeans and their DSA spirit shirt. Go Sharks!

Box Lunch Sign Up
If you are planning to have your child eat lunch through Neil’s Catering on
Wednesday, November 23, please click the following link to sign up:
http://dsa.link/boxlunch1. This is only for students in PreK-3 through
1st grade, and you must submit a separate form for each student. The food
included in the boxed lunch is listed when you click on the link.
Advent By Candlelight
Divine Savior Church invites you to our annual Advent by Candlelight
on Monday, December 5 at 7 pm in the middle school gym. Join us as we
celebrate the birth of our Savior with a program followed by a meal. Please

Christmas Programs
The early childhood Christmas program will take place on Sunday,
December 18 during our 9:30 am (English) and 11:30 am (Spanish)
services. Your child’s teacher will communicate the service that he/she
will attend. The elementary Christmas Program will take place on Tuesday,
December 20 at 7 pm in the middle school gymnasium.
Doral Holiday Card Contest
The Doral Holiday Card Contest is underway. Please see the attachment for
more information and rules for submitting entries.
Hot Lunch Account
Please remember to keep your child’s lunch account full if he/she eats hot lunch on a regular basis. Students with an excessive and consistent negative
balance will be asked to call home and may be given an alternative meal of fruit and a sandwich. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.
Labels
Please label your child’s lunch box, water bottle, sweaters, and jackets so that if items are lost or misplaced they may be returned to the proper owner.
