Our Lord Jesus Christ
King of the Universe
Welcome! We, the parish community of St. Michael Catholic
Church in Van Buren, Arkansas, know that we are part of the
Body of Christ. Our call is to make Christ present in our own
lives and the lives of those with whom we associate. We do
this through prayer, the celebration of the sacraments, religious
education, and the example of our lives of faith, hope, and love.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development This weekend, Nov. 19 and 20, the second collection is for
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). This Campaign works to uphold the dignity of human life
by breaking the cycle of poverty in the United States through grants to local community-based groups that create jobs,
improve education and strengthen neighborhoods. Twenty-five percent of this collection remains in our diocese to fund
our own anti-poverty projects.

Abbey, the Olivetan Benedictine sisters of Holy Angels Convent and the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of the Carmel of
St. Teresa of Jesus all received financial assistance from this collection. Additionally, men and women religious who
serve or have served in the diocese but whose institutes are headquartered elsewhere may benefit from this fund.
The second collection on December 3 and 4 will be for this fund. Please consider the work that these orders have
Done (and still do) for us as you consider your donation.
