active vs. passive voice

ACTIVE VS. PASSIVE VOICE
VOZ ACTIVA: En la voz activa, el sujeto realiza la acción representada por el verbo. Aquí el
sujeto es el agente de la acción.
Ejemplo: Cardenales de Lara won the baseball game last night.
VOZ PASIVA: En la voz pasiva, el sujeto recibe la acción identificada por el verbo. En este caso, el
sujeto es el objeto pasivo de la acción o, quien recibe la acción.
Ejemplo: The baseball game was won by Cardenales de Lara team.
Nota: Observemos que, en la Voz Activa tenemos un Sujeto + Verbo +
Predicado. En la Voz Pasiva el Predicado pasa a ser el sujeto.
Ejemplos de Voz Activa y Voz Pasiva en distintos tiempos gramaticales:
1A.They make sports cars in that factory (Active Voice) (Present Tense)
1B. Sports cars are made in that factory. (Passive Voice)
2A. They built that bridge in 2012. (Active Voice) (Past Tense)
2B. That bridge was built in 2012. (Passive Voice)
3A. The students will finish the English Course in June. (Active Voice) (Future Tense)
3B. The English Course will be finished in June. (Passive Voice)
4A. The mechanics are repairing the car this month. (Active Voice) (Present Continuous)
4B. The car is being repaired this month. (Passive Voice)
