Estimados Padres de Familia de 7º grado:
¡Espero que hayan tenido un verano excelente!
Como es del conocimiento de la mayoría de los padres de familia de 7º grado, sus hijos
recibirán, de parte del colegio, una computadora Mac Book totalmente nueva como una
herramienta en su educación. Con gran agrado les invito a participar en una junta
informativa el jueves, 18 de agosto, a las 8:00 p.m. en punto, en el auditorio del
colegio. En dicha junta explicaremos en qué consiste el Proyecto de Aprendizaje del
Siglo 21 del Colegio Americano y cómo se beneficiarán nuestros alumnos. Hablaremos
sobre lo que será un día de trabajo usando esta nueva herramienta, así como de las
responsabilidades que los estudiantes, personal docente y familias, tienen en este
proyecto y en lo que se refiere a las computadoras. De igual manera, daremos algunas
sugerencias sobre el uso sano y seguro de las mismas en casa. Al final de la reunión
entregaremos las computadoras a las familias de 7º grado que hayan asistido.
Antes de entregar las Macbooks, les pediremos que firmen un Acuerdo de Préstamo de
Computadora y un par de documentos. Los padres de familia que no puedan asistir a esta
junta deberán ponerse de acuerdo con la administración de la Escuela Media para la firma
de estos documentos, de manera que sus hijos puedan recibir su computadora.
Para que los alumnos puedan llevarse su laptop a casa el jueves por la noche, deberán
traer una mochila que sea especial para una computadora de 13 pulgadas. La mochila
deberá ser exclusivamente para transportar su computadora y no parte de su mochila de
útiles escolares.
Esperamos contar con su asistencia este jueves 18 de agosto. Nos sentimos muy
emocionados de proveer esta excelente oportunidad educativa a nuestra comunidad
escolar.

Dear 7th Grade Parents,
I hope you had excellent summer!
As you most likely already know, your seventh grade student will be receiving a brand
new Mac Book computer from the school to use as an educational tool. I am excited to
cordially invite you to attend an informational meeting to be held on Thursday, August
18th at 8:00PM sharp in the school auditorium. During the meeting we explain what the
21st Century Learning Project is and how it will benefit our students. We will discuss
what it will look like on a day to day basis as well as the responsibilities that students,
faculty, and families have in terms of the project and the computers. We will also
provide suggestions for safe and healthy computing at home. At the end of the meeting
we will distribute the computers to the 7th grade families in attendance.
We will ask you to sign a Computer Loan Agreement and a couple of other documents
before we can handout the Macbooks. Students whose parents are unable to attend need
to make arrangements with the middle school administration to sign off on the forms
before we will be able to issue their child a computer.
Also, in order for students to be able to leave with their laptops on Thursday night, they
must bring with them a bag for their computer that is specific for a 13 inch computer.
The bag must be exclusively for the computer and not part of a back pack.

to provide this outstanding educational opportunity to our school community.
