PHP MISSION STATEMENT
“Parents Helping Parents” has been created to serve families facing today’s challenges of raising compassionate, empowered and
self-motivated children in nonviolent and nourishing ways within a violent society. This is done within a supportive group
setting learning new, proactive parenting skills in an atmosphere of respect, love and compassion. We encourage and motivate
parents to evolve into support groups of peace and action.

SEA PARENTS HELPING PARENTS
Started 24 years ago and today it conducts 33 parenting
groups in all 18 SEA School Sites. It also takes place in
different agencies and churches throughout Los Angeles,
Chicago, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Peru and Chile.

Confident people know why they were created. They have a
sense of purpose, a belief that they are important and can achieve their goals and that their lives matter.
Confident people know that they have special abilities and use them for others.

One of the primary goals of a parent is to help build
confidence in their child. Confidence is the human quality
that affects the outcomes of our lives. We are able to walk
boldly in the direction of our dreams and tackle the
challenges in life. As each of your children eventually leaves
the family nest you want them to depart with the gift of
confidence. Our world needs us to embrace the goals of
global peace and prosperity using our talents, and inspirations
to create a life for all without poverty and exploitation.

THE NEST
The eagle gently coaxed her offspring toward the edge of the nest. Her heart
quivered with conflicting emotions as she felt their resistance to her persistent
nudging. “Why does the thrill of soaring have to begin with the fear of falling?”
she thought.
Her nest was located high on the shelf of a sheer rock face. Below there was
nothing but air to support the wings of each child. “Is it possible that this time
it will not work?” she thought. Despite her fears, the eagle knew it was time.
Her parental mission was all but complete. There remained one final task THE
PUSH.
The eagle drew courage from an innate wisdom. Until her children discovered
their wings there was no purpose for their lives. Until they learned how to soar, they would fail to understand
the privilege it was, to have been born an eagle . The push was the greatest gift she had to offer. It was her
supreme act of love. And so one by one she pushed them, and they flew. (David McNally, 1990)

hijos en una atmosfera de respeto, amor y compassion. Motivamos a nuestros padres que continuen en grupos de apoyo practicando la paz en acciones comunitarias.

cultivar en sus hijos.

dado cada semana en los 18 Sitios de SEA
Una meta primaria de ser Padre es ayudar crear en sus
hijos la CONFIANZA. EN SI. La Confianza es la calidad
humana que afecta los resultados de nuestras vidas. Esta
calidad nos ayuda andar en la direccion de nuestros suenos
y enfrentar los desafios en nuestras vidas. Cuando sus
hijos finalmente dejan el nido de la familia quieren que
lleven dentro de si el regalo de la CONFIANZA. Nuestro
mundo necesita personas que abrazen las metas de la paz
global y properidad para todos usando sus talentos e
inspiraciones para crear un mundo sin pobreza y
explotacion.
Personas con Confianza saben porque fueron creados.
Tienen un sentido de proposito, una creencia que sus vidas tienen importancia Personas con confianza usan sus
habilidades y talentos para los demas.

La Madre Aguila comienza a empujar sus pequenos a la orilla del nido. Su
Corazon esta lleno de emociones conflictivas cuando siente la resistencia de
sus pequenos. “Porque el miedo de caer llena nuestros corazones antes de
tentar a volar? Se pregunta.
Su nido esta colocado en lo alto. No hay nada abajo, solo aire que soporta las
alas de sus pequenos. “Es possible que esta vez no trabaje la naturalez.?”
piensa. Pero apezar de sus miedos, la madre Aguila sabe que es el tiempo. Su
mission de Madre ya se complete. Solo queda una tarea final. EL EMPUJE.
Su sabiduria interna le da la valentia necesaria. Si sus pequenos no descubren
sus alas no hay motive para sus vidas. Hasta que aprendan a volar, no sabran el
privilegio de haber nacido una Aguila. EL EMPUJE es el regalo mas grande que ella les puede ofrecer. Es su
Acto supremo de amor. Los empuja uno por uno, y VUELAN. . (David McNally, 1990)
