Hatch Elementary School gets a New Principal for the Day On March 1st, I had the fun pleasure of being Hatch Elementary School’s Principal for the Day! It was the perfect way to connect with businesses and community leaders for a few hours once a year. I even got my very own “Principal Parking” parking spot! I was welcomed by Principal Jim Ward who provided introductions to his office staff and faculty, the hundreds of children ranging from kindergarteners to fifth graders at early morning recess, and toured the classrooms, including the very popular TwoWay Spanish/English Immersion Program. m a r c h Planning Commission Meeting 3/8 Concerts in the Park 3/13 City Council Meeting 3/15 Planning Commission Meeting 3/22 Recreation Committee Meeting 3/23 I thoroughly enjoyed being the Principal for the Day and hope to do it again!! The City has a headphone/transmitting system and brings in an interpreter who will speak into a microphone, interpreting the proceedings of the meeting into Spanish, to be heard by those members of the audience wearing the headphones. At the meetings, community members need only request the headphones in order to hear the meeting in Spanish. The interpreter will be available at the beginning of the meeting. If no one requests the service then the interpreter will not stay for the entire meeting. “Pop Up” Concerts in the Park Scheduled for Sunday, March 13 Come enjoy a “pop-up" Concert in the Parks on Sunday, March 13 at Mac Dutra Plaza from 1 ~ 3 pm (weather permitting) and listen to the sounds of soul, blues, and a mixture of other styles by Roem Bauer.
