ACUERDO ESPECíFICO DE INTERCAMBIO
DE ESTUDIANTES Y PERSONAL
ACADÉMICO, QUE CELEBRAN POR UNA PARTE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE GUADALAJARA,
MEXICO, EN LO SUCESIVO DENOMINADA "UDEG", REPRESENTADA POR SU RECTOR
GENERAL, DR. MARCO ANTONIO CORTÉS GUARDADO Y EL SECRETARIO GENERAL,
LIC. JOSÉ ALFREDO PEÑA RAMOS, POR LA OTRA PARTE, Tia UNIVERSITY OF
APPUED SCIENCES, EN LO SUCESIVO DENOMINADA LA "TIO", REPRESENTADA POR
SU DIRECTOR, IR. MARK DÜTHLER AND RINA JOHANNA SNIJDERS, AL TENOR DE
LAS DECLARACIONES Y cLÁUSULAS SIGUIENTES:
1.
Que ambas partes tienen celebrado un Convenio, señalando que las declaraciones
que aparecen en el mismo, se tienen aquí por reproducidas para todos los efectos
legales a que haya lugar.

Que la personalidad jurídica de los representantes legales de la "UDEG" y de la
"TIO" quedaron debidamente acreditadas en el Convenio, mismas que se ratifican
en este instrumento.
111.
Que en el citado Convenio se acordó colaborar en tareas de mutuo interés, las
cuales de ser aprobadas por ambas instituciones, se formalizarían mediante
acuerdos específicos que se suscribirían en el marco de dicho documento.
PRIMERA. El presente acuerdo tiene por objeto establecer las bases para un programa de
intercambio de personal académico y estudiantes de licenciatura y posgrado entre la "UDEG"
yla "UM".
SEGUNDA. No están incluidos en el presente acuerdo, los programas académicos de
extensión de la UDEG, ofrecidos por sus empresas universitarias: el Centro de Estudios para
Extranjeros (CEPE) y el Sistema Corporativo Proulex-Comlex.
TERCERA. Cada una de las partes seleccionará y nominará a sus estudiantes para participar
en este programa de intercambio, de acuerdo con los procedimientos y requisitos establecidos
por la universidad anfitriona, la cual se reserva el derecho de admisión de los estudiantes.

CUARTA. Los estudiantes de intercambio deben cumplir con los requisitos de idioma para el
curso o programa elegido, o tomar instrucción adecuada antes del inicio de su programa
académico, como estipulado en las reglas de la universidad receptora.
QUINTA. Los estudiantes que participan bajo este convenio de intercambio se ajustarán al
calendario académico de la institución anfitriona y pueden tener una duración de hasta un año
académico completo; según los requerimientos del programa académico.
Los estudiantes seleccionados para el programa de intercambio podrán seleccionar y tomar
cursos en la universidad anfitriona, siempre y cuando correspondan al mismo nivel y/o sean
equiparables a los impartidos en su universidad de origen.
SEXTA. La universidad de origen remitirá a la universidad anfitriona, para fines del proceso de
admisión, los expedientes de los estudiantes seleccionados respetando el calendario
establecido por esta para tal fin.
SÉPTIMA. Los estudiantes que participen en el presente programa de intercambio pagarán
en su Universidad de origen las cuotas por concepto de inscripción y matrícula. La
Universidad anfitriona no cobrará cuotas por estos conceptos.
OCTAVA. Ambas instituciones acuerdan mantener un equilibrio en el número de estudiantes
de intercambio, con un máximo de 4 estudiantes por año académico.
NOVENA. Al término del período de intercambio la universidad anfitriona enviará a la
universidad de origen un reporte oficial de las calificaciones obtenidas por cada estudiante. La
revalidación del programa cursado quedará sujeta a la normatividad vigente de cada
institución. Si así se solicita, la universidad anfitriona proveerá a la universidad de origen una
descripción de los cursos, y currículo de los profesores que impartieron las clases tomadas
por los estudiantes de intercambio, así como información sobre los sistemas que utiliza para la
evaluación y para la asignación de calificaciones.
DÉCIMA. Los estudiantes seleccionados para el intercambio tendrán todos los derechos y
responsabilidades académicas que la universidad anfitriona contemple para sus propios
estudiantes, debiendo apegarse a las leyes y reglamentos universitarios y podrán estar
sujetos a las sanciones ahí estipuladas en caso de incumplimiento. La universidad de origen
deberá ser informada en la eventualidad de que uno de sus estudiantes incurra en
incumplimiento. Dentro del programa de intercambio los estudiantes no tendrán derecho al
otorgamiento de un título o grado por parte de la universidad anfitriona.
DÉCIMA PRIMERA. Es responsabilidad de los estudiantes realizar los trámites para obtener
la visa en su país de origen.

DÉCIMA SEGUNDA. Los estudiantes serán responsables de todos los gastos adicionales
generados a partir del intercambio, incluyendo los gastos de transporte, hospedaje,
alimentación, seguro médico y otros.
DÉCIMA TERCERA. La universidad anfitriona proveerá asesoramiento académico y servicios
de consejería a los estudiantes de intercambio durante su estadía.
DÉCIMA CUARTA. Ambas instituciones acuerdan establecer, anualmente, el número de
académicos entrantes. Por la sistéma de le laboridad en Tia, el intercambio de Tia a UDEG
es limitada. Es possible por la personal académico visita Tia en un intercambio durante la
vigencia del Convenio.
DÉCIMA QUINTA. Según sus habilidades, las universidades podrán ayudarle al personal
académico obtener recursos para cubrir sus gastos de transporte, alojamiento, alimentación
seguros médicos.
DÉCIMA SEXTA. Los académicos que participen dentro del presente programa de
intercambio, serán responsables de realizar los trámites necesarios previstos en la
nonnatividad vigente de cada una de las instituciones respecto a su estancia. Esto incluye
recabar las autorizaciones necesarias para ausentarse de sus labores docentes durante el
tiempo que dure su estancia en la universidad anfitriona.
DÉCIMA SÉPTIMA. Los académicos que participen dentro del presente programa serán
responsables por todos las gastos adicionales de transporte, alojamiento, alimentación
seguros médicos.
DÉCIMA OCTAVA. El personal académico que participe en el presente programa de
intercambio mantendrá su relación laboral con su universidad de origen.
DÉCIMA NOVENA. La universidad anfitriona proporcionará a la universidad de origen un
infonne escrito respecto a las actividades realizadas por el personal académico en
intercambio durante su estancia.
VIGÉSIMA. El presente convenio entrará en vigor a partir de su fecha de firma y tendrá una
vigencia de cinco años, misma que podrá extenderse a petición de cualquiera de las partes. El
acuerdo podrá tenninarse anticipadamente cuando una de las partes comunique por escrito a

la otra con seis meses de anticipación su deseo de darlo por terminado. En este caso, los
estudiantes y académicos que ya hayan sido aceptados por las partes no serán afectados y
se les permitirá concluir sus actividades programadas cumpliéndose en todo las cláusulas
arriba estipuladas.
VIGÉSIMA PRIMERA. Las partes manifiestan que la firma del presente acuerdo y las
disposiciones en él descritas, son producto de su buena fe, por lo que realizarán todas las
acciones necesarias para su debido cumplimiento; en caso de presentarse alguna
discrepancia sobre su interpretación, ésta será resuelta de común acuerdo.
Leído el presente instrumento, enteradas las partes del contenido y alcance de cada una
de sus cláusulas e indicando que en su celebración no existe dolo, mala fe, o cualquier otro
motivo que vicie su consentimiento, ambas partes lo firman por duplicado en español, e
inglés, teniendo ambas versiones igual contenido y validez.

SPECIFIC AGREEMENT FOR THE EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS AND ACADEMIC
PERSONNEL, BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE UNIVERSIDAD DE GUADALAJARA, MÉXICO,
HEREIN REFERRED TO AS "UDEG" REPRESENTED IN THIS ACT BY ITS RECTOR
GENERAL, DR. MARCO ANTONIO CORTÉS GUARDADO AND THE SECRETARY
GENERAL, LIC. JOSÉ ALFREDO PEÑA RAMOS, AND BY THE TIO UNIVERSITY OF
APPLlED SCIENCES, REFERRED TO AS "TIO", REPRESENTED BY THE DIRECTOR
IR. MARK DÜTHLER AND RINA JOHANNA SNIJDERS; AS PURSUANT TO THE
FOLLOWING ANTECEDENTS AND CLAUSES:

That the "UDEG" and the "TIO" formerly signed an Agreement, laying down the
declarations that appear in said document, and which are hereby reprised in their
full legal effect.
11. That the persons acting with full legal responsibility of "UDEG" and "TIO" remain
duly accredited in the referred Agreement, said persons being ratified in this
document.
111.That in the aforementioned Agreement, it was agreed to collaborate in works of
mutual interest, those which are to be approved by both institutions and formalized
by means of Specific Agreements that would be endorsed within the framework of
said document.
After the above-mentioned, the parties will be so good as to bring the present document to
a conclusion in the terms and conditions which are established in the following:
FIRST. The objective of the present agreement is to establish the basis for an exchange
program for undergraduate, graduate students and academic personnel.

SECOND. The academic extension programs of the UDEG offered by its university
enterprises, the Centro de Estudios para Extranjeros (CEPE) and the Sistema Corporativo
PROULEX - COMLEX are not included in this agreement.
THIRD. Each party will select and nominate students to participate in this exchange program,
in accordance with the procedures and requirements set forth by the host university.
Admittance of exchange students remains within the discretion of the host university.
FOURTH. Exchange students must satisfy the language proficiency requirements for the
chosen course or programme or take appropriate language instruction prior to the beginning
of their academic programme, as determined by the regulations of the host university.
FIFTH. The exchange of students under this program will take place in accordance with the
academic calendar of the host university, and may last for up to a full academic year as
required by each academic programo
Students selected for this exchange program will be allowed to select and take courses at the
host university, provided that the courses correspond to the same level and/or are equivalent
to those offered by their home university.
SIXTH. The home university will submit the required certified documents of the students
selected to the host university, for admittance purposes, by the deadline set by the host
university.
SEVENTH. Students participating in this exchange program will pay registration and tuition
fees to their home university. The host university will not charge them for these items.

EIGHTH. 80th institutions agree to keep the number of exehange students equitable, with a
maximum of 4 partieipants per aeademie year.
NINTH. At the end of the aeademie term the host university will send the home university an
offieial transeript of the grades obtained by eaeh exehange student. The eonversion of
aeademie records will be made aeeording to the home institution's regulations and eriteria. If
so requested, the host university will provide eourse deseriptions, as well as information about
the grading and evaluation system used.
TENTH. Students seleeted for the exehange will have the same aeademie and administrative
rights and responsibilities applied by the host university to its own students. Exehange
students must follow the regulations of the host university, and they will be held aeeountable
in case of non-eomplianee. Their home university will be informed of any sueh noneomplianee. Exehange students will not be eligible for a degree awarded by the host
university as part of the exehange.
ELEVENTH. It is the responsibility of the exehange students to obtain the proper visas in their
home eountry.
TWELFTH. The exehange students will be responsible for all additional expenses in this
exehange program, ineluding, but not limited to, transportation, housing, meals and health
insurance.
THIRTEENTH. The host university will provide academie advisory and eounselling serviees
to exehange students during their stay.
FOURTEENTH. 80th institutions agree to annually determine the number of aeademies sent
and reeeived. Due to the system of employment at TIO, outgoing aeademie personnel from

TIO to UDEG will be limited. TIO will welcome incoming teachers from UDEG over the term of
this Agreement.
FIFTEENTH. The Universities according to their abilities can help the academic exchange
personnel to obtain resources to cover their transportation expenses, housing, meals and
health insurance.
SIXTEENTH. The academic personnel participating under this agreement, will make the
necessary arrangements according to the current regulations of each party, to receive
authorization to leave their academic activities for the period of academic stay at the
host university.
SEVENTEENTH. The academics participating in the program will be responsible for all
additional expenses, such as transportation, housing, meals and health insurance.
EIGHTEENTH. 80th parties agree that academic personnel participating in the exchange
will maintain their work relationship with their home university.
NINETEENTH. The host university will give the visiting academic personnel an official
letter stating the activities realized at the host university once the stay is concluded.
1WENTIETH. This agreement will become valid upon its joint signature and will be valid for
five years. In case it is signed separately, its date of validity will conform to the latter
signature. This agreement can be renewed, extended and/or modified if the both parties
agree to such changes and do so at least 6 months prior to its date of expiry. Should there
be any projects in active exchange status; the agreement may not be terminated until their
completion.

TWENTY-FIR5T. The parties state that the signing of the current agreement and the
commitments contained therein, are made in good faith and, therefore they will undertake all
actions necessary for its proper execution; any discrepancy in the interpretation of the
agreement will be resolved by common accord.
Having read this document, both institutions being aware of the contents and extent of
each clause and affirming that there is no deceit, reticence, or any other reason that might
corrupt its approval, both institutions sign in duplicate, in English and Spanish, both
versions with the same content and validity.
