Spanish with Señorita Sarah: October 2016
Hola parents,
We have a great start to our September and October topic in Spanish—Food! Plastic/play food
and our food song (to the tune of Clementine) have been very helpful as everyone works on
remembering the new vocabulary. And many remembered the word for “fork” by breaking it up
into “ten (fingers)” “(letter) A” “(knock on the) door” for tenedor. We will continue with this
unit into October, with an ending focus on cooking and putting everything in a real-world
context (at a restaurant). We will finish up October with a Halloween session in Spanish, which
is always fun! Everyone is into our bilingual stories and visits from the puppet Boca, and older
students will be having quizzes and tests throughout the school year.
