Abstract:
After twenty years of their insurrection, this paper is aimed to set the socio-political
importance of the Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional (EZLN) in the regional
and national scenery, its influence in the "indigenous reform" at the continental level,
as well as its contributions to the field of the fight for a more fair and democratic
country. Of singular importance in the definition of the neo Zapatista conception are its
epistemological and cultural definitions (in the mayan
context), and its ethics based on the principles based in the actions of the social
majority.
Keywords: Social movements, zapatismo, indigenous peoples, social law, human rights.
