Rider Alert Line 84 – Galvez Detour between Canal Street and Tulane Avenue Starting Monday, June 10 Effective Monday, June 10, S. Galvez Street between Tulane Avenue and Canal Street will be closed due to the new hospitals’ construction. RTA has been advised that this street closure shall last through 2013. Galvez buses will detour using Canal Street to Claiborne Avenue until S. Galvez Street is reopened. Galvez buses will continue to stop in downtown at Zone D (Tulane Avenue at Loyola Avenue) via Canal Street, S. Claiborne Avenue and Tulane Avenue. On trips to the Lower 9th Ward, Galvez buses will continue to use Loyola Avenue and Poydras Street to S. Claiborne Avenue to Canal Street to S. Galvez Street. RTA is working with the City of New Orleans to site additional bus stops on Canal Street. Service will be discontinued at the following Galvez bus stops.
