NARRATIVE: Jordi Gracia and 12 other
people, including fellow journalist Albert
Martinez, were taking surfing lessons when
his ankle was bitten by a shark. It is not clear
if he was on his board when he was bitten
because he was quoted in the Fiji Times as
saying,” I was trying to swim out into the
waves when I felt [the sharks’ teeth snap
around my ankle and tug at it.”
INJURY: He sustained a deep lacerated
wound of the ankle
TREATMENT: Gracia was initially treated at
Sigatoka Hospital, and later transferred to
Lautoka for further treatment.

Suva (ACN).- El periodista catalán Jordi Gracia ha sido atacado por un tiburón mientras
practicaba surf en las islas Fiji , informan los medios locales. Suva (ACN) .- The Catalan
journalist, Jordi Gracia, has been attacked by a shark while surfing in Fiji, local media reported.
"Estaba intentando nadar cuando oí los dientes del tiburón mordiendo el tobillo", relató Gracia al
diario Fiji Times. "I was trying to swim when I heard the shark teeth biting the ankle," Gracia told
the Fiji Times newspaper.
Inmediatamente después del ataque, que se produjo el viernes, el periodista fue trasladado al
hospital de Sigatoka y posteriormente al de Lautoka, donde fue atendido de la herida en el tobillo.
