Objectives
 The module aims to provide students with a solid grounding and training in
contrastiveEnglishandSpanishlinguisticstructures.Thissystematiccontrastivestudy
willallowstudentstoimprovetheirtranslatingcompetence.
 ToallowstudentstotranslatefromEnglishintoSpanishsoastogainexperienceand
confidencetotranslateindependentlythroughpractice.
 Throughabundantexamples,themodulefocusesoncrucialaspectsoftranslationand
contrastivelinguisticsbetweenSpanishandEnglish.
LearningOutcomesofsubjectspecificknowledge
 Studentswillacquireanin‐depthknowledgeoflinguisticmismatchingbetween
EnglishandSpanishatvariouslevels.
 Studentswillacquireabasicknowledgeofkeytranslationproceduresanddevices
involvedinprocessesofEnglish‐Spanishtranslation.
