Parenting Payment
Parenting Payment es un pago de ayuda a los ingresos para asistir a los padres o tutores con el
costo de la crianza de los niños.
Requisitos para el Parenting Payment
El Parenting Payment se paga al cuidador principal de un niño. Solo uno de los padres o tutores
puede recibir el pago. Es posible que reúna los requisitos para el Parenting Payment en su
condición de padre, abuelo o cuidador temporal, si:





es soltero y está a cargo del cuidado de al menos un niño menor de ocho años, o
tiene pareja y está a cargo del cuidado de al menos un niño menor de seis años, y
los ingresos y el valor de los bienes tanto suyos como de su pareja (si la tiene) son
inferiores a determinados montos, y
cumple con los requisitos de residencia, y
está en condiciones de cumplir con requisitos de participación si fuese necesario.
Tasas de pago del Parenting Payment
El monto del Parenting Payment que reciba depende de su situación familiar. Las tasas se
actualizan el 20 de marzo y el 20 de septiembre de cada año. Para conocer las tasas vigentes, visite

Pruebas de ingresos y de bienes para el Parenting
Payment
El monto del Parenting Payment que reciba depende de los ingresos y bienes tanto suyos como
de su pareja (si la tiene).
Un bien es una propiedad o posesión de la cual es dueño en forma total o parcial. Incluye activos
que tenga en el exterior y deudas a cobrar.
Las pruebas de ingresos y de bienes se actualizan el 20 de marzo, el 1º de Julio y el 20 de

Parenting Payment
Parenting Payment is income support for parents or guardians to help with the cost of raising
children.
Eligibility for Parenting Payment
Parenting Payment is paid to the principal carer of a child. Only one parent or guardian can receive
the payment. You may qualify for Parenting Payment as a parent, grandparent, or foster carer, if:

you are single and care for at least one child aged less than eight, or
you have a partner and care for at least one child aged less than six, and
the income and assets of both you and your partner (if you have one) are below certain
amounts, and
you meet residence requirements, and
you are able to meet participation requirements if needed.
Payment rates for Parenting Payment
The amount of Parenting Payment you get depends on your family situation. The rates are
updated on 20 March and 20 September each year. For the latest rates visit

Income and assets tests for Parenting Payment
The amount of Parenting Payment you get depends on the income and assets of both you and
your partner (if you have one).
An asset is any property or possession you own either partly or wholly. It includes assets held
outside Australia and debts owing to you.
The income and assets tests are updated on 20 March, 1 July and 20 September each year. For the
