Get Involved With
Your Community
Kids need a strong family to support them. You can make your
family even stronger by extending it. Take time to get
acquainted with adults, teens and children in your community.
To take the first step:





Get to know the names of other children in your
neighborhood.
Greet them by name and with a smile.
Introduce yourself to their parents. Join them in
providing a caring community of adults for children in
your neighborhood.
Introduce yourself to other neighbors if you don't know
them.
Organize a neighborhood picnic or social.

I hope you can attend our classes. On Mondays
we have Basic English classes for non-English
speaking parents. On Wednesdays parenting
skill classes, this classes are in English. This
month on the 8th we have invited the Gang Unit
to give a presentation on Gangs, and how to
protect and help our children. On the 15th the
Family Support Center Services will talk about
emergency nurseries, resources for young
mothers, etc. On the 29th we invited Early Head
Start to give a presentation about their services
for low income families.

Involúcrese en
su comunidad
Los niños necesitan una familia fuerte que los apoye. Usted
puede incluso hacerla más fuerte si la extiende. Tómese algo
de tiempo para que lo conozcan otros adultos, adolescentes y
niños en su comunidad. Para dar el primer paso:




Aprenda los nombres de otros niños en su vecindario.
Salúdelos por su nombre y con una sonrisa.
Preséntese a sus padres. Únase a ellos para proveer
una comunidad de adultos que se preocupa por los
niños de su vecindario.
Preséntese a otros vecinos si no los conoce.
Espero que puedan asistir a nuestra clase, los
lunes tenemos Ingles básico para padres que no
hablan Inglés, Y los Miércoles clases de crianza,
estas clases son en Ingles, pero las traducimos.
Este mes el 8 invitamos a Unidad de Pandillas
para dar una presentación de cómo proteger y
ayudar a nuestros hijos. El 15, el Centro de
Servicios de Apoyo Familiar nos hablará sobre
las guarderías de emergencia, recursos para
madres jóvenes, etc. Además el 22 el Progama
de Head Start nos dará una presentación sobre
servicios para familias de bajos ingresos.
Organice algún picnic o acto social.
