We encourage parents of girls attending Girls
Can! Career Exploration Conference to come
along and attend the parents’ workshop
designed to support the parents of middleschool aged girls. There are three hour-long
sessions dealing with the following subjects:
Girls Can! is your opportunity to explore several exciting career possibilities all in one day. The
workshop presenters are local career women, many of whom went to school in Doña Ana County.
You will hear about their jobs and participate in a related activity designed to start you thinking
about your own future. We hope to inspire you to dream big and to value education as a path to a
bright future. The conference promises to be a fun-filled and rewarding experience. Plan to join us
and bring your friends.

¡Las Muchachas Si Pueden! (Girls Can!) es su oportunidad de explorar varias emocionantes
posibilidades para su futura trayectoria laboral, y todas en un solo día! Todas las presentadoras de
este taller son mujeres de ésta área y muchas de ellas fueron estudiantes aquí en el Condado de
Doña Ana. Oirá de sus interesantes trabajos y participará en una actividad relacionada a las mismas
diseñada para que comience a pensar en su propio futuro. Esperamos inspirarle a soñar en grande y
valuar la preparación académica como un camino hacia un futuro más gratificante.

The workshop will be held in the library at
Lynn Middle School. Breakfast, coffee and
morning snacks for those attending the
workshop will be available in the parents’
break room.

Girls Can! will be held at Lynn Middle School in Las Cruces at 950 S. Walnut Ave. (next to Young
Park). Report to the cafeteria between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m. to get your T-shirt and name tag, then
enjoy breakfast and meet girls from other schools in the county. The welcome speaker will be
County Manager Julia Brown. Student workshops begin at 9:00 a.m.

Registration and Fees:
Choose two workshops you would like to attend. A third will be assigned.
The registration fee of $5.00 per girl includes a Girls Can! T-shirt and breakfast.
Your parent or guardian must sign the permission form for you to attend.
Registration forms must be returned to your school counselor by Wednesday, February 18, for you to
attend.
The Parents’ Workshop is designed to support the parents of middle-school girls. Check in at 8:00
a.m. in the library. Breakfast is included. There is no charge for parents or guardians to attend.
