Identificación de duplicados de códigos facturados sin modificador y con modificador
RT y/o LT u otros modificadores anatómicos.
El sistema de Triple-S Salud contiene éditos de validación creados para asegurar que nuestro
sistema cumple con la necesidad de detectar duplicados. Los éditos de validación no se basan
en razones clínicas, son éditos de políticas de pago para evitar pagos incorrectos antes de la
adjudicación final de la reclamación.
Un ejemplo de validación es la identificación de una línea/duplicado con y sin modificadores
como elemento.
El sistema está editando algunas reclamaciones duplicadas con modificador LT o RT, en caso
dónde el mismo proveedor ha facturado el mismo código de procedimiento sin modificador en la
misma fecha de servicio, en la misma reclamación o en una separada. Por ejemplo:

Incluye modificador RT y excluye modificador LT, y el mismo proveedor ha facturado el
mismo código de procedimiento sin modificador en la misma fecha de servicio.
Incluye modificador LT excluye modificador RT, y el mismo proveedor ha facturado el
mismo código de procedimiento sin modificador en la misma fecha de servicio.
Existen éditos parecidos para la validación de los modificadores anatómicos de dedos de las
manos y los pies, así como los modificadores de parpados.

The DLPA edit identifies a possible duplicate reporting by the same provider without an eyelid
modifier and with an eyelid modifier on the same date of service.
Identifying Duplicate Service Billed Includes/Excludes modifiers RT and/or LT and other
anatomical modifiers
Triple-S Salud system has validation edits that are created to assure a product meets the needs
of the system's performance in meeting the billing specifications. The validation edits are not
based on clinical rationale; they are payment policy edits to avoid incorrect payment before the
final adjudication of the claim.
An example of a validation edit is the identification of a duplicate line/element item with or without
modifiers.
The system identifies whether the codes include the modifier RT or LT in the line and there is
another claim for the same provider where the procedure code does not include modifier codes
on the same date of service. For example:
 Same Provider Includes RT Excludes LT, in the case that the same provider has reported
the same procedure code without modifier on the same date of service.
 Same Provider Includes LT Excludes RT, in the case that the same provider has reported
the same procedure code without modifier on the same date of service
There are similar validation edits with the anatomical modifiers for fingers, toes and eyelids.
