Dear Irrigon Elementary School Students and Parents,
Welcome back to a wonderful school year! I hope this letter finds you enjoying the last couple weeks of summer. I
continue to be absolutely in awe of how amazing the community of Irrigon is! As I begin my 17th year as an
educator in Morrow County School District, I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be than Irrigon!!!
When you begin school this year you will see several new faces. Our fifth grade has a new teammate; Ms. Wardle
who joins us from Boise where she taught for seven years. We will have a new PE specialist, Mr. Lemmon, who is
joining us from ACH where he previously taught for the past year. We will have a new Educational Assistant
named Mrs. Contreras. Additionally, Ms. Spencer, our music teacher, was married this summer so her new name
will be Mrs. Evanoff. Please help me in welcoming our new staff this year and congratulating Mrs. Evanoff!
School starts on Monday, August 29th. The school doors will be unlocked at 7:00. Please note that this will be
strictly enforced this year, as we do not have staff available for supervision until 7:00. Students are encouraged
to go to the cafeteria for breakfast. Morning recess will begin at 7:15 and school starts at 7:30.
Below is some important information to think about and plan for before you arrive at school on August 29th.
Open House: Thursday, August 25th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. We look forward to spending this time with IES
families!
Bus Routes: We will have someone from Mid-Columbia available at Open House on Thursday, August 25th from
5:00 – 7:00 p.m. to answer questions about routes.
Meals: Student lunch is $2.55; reduced is no charge. Breakfast is $1.00; reduced in no charge. Milk is $0.60.
Remember to bring your lunch money on the first day, as CHARGING is NOT allowed. Students who were on free
and reduced lunches last year or who want to apply this year must complete an application and return it to school
as soon as possible. Applications for Free and Reduced Lunch will be available at Open House. You can also
deposit money on your child’s lunch account on that evening.
School Pictures: Wednesday, September 28th. Information will be coming home later about this.
Student Body Fee: Each student must pay a $5.00 fee in order to participate in any extra-curricular activity,
including reward activities, field trips, outdoor school and clubs. Please bring that to your teacher on the first day.
Student of the Month Assemblies: Our first assembly will be held on Thursday, September 29 at 7:45 a.m. All
other Student of the Month assemblies will be on the 4th Thursday of the month. If there is a vacation or holiday,
they will be held the week prior. Reminders will be sent multiple times a month so you don’t miss these special
events.
Together, teachers, students and families make Irrigon Elementary strong. We appreciate your support as your
child enters the classroom, learns and grows throughout the year. I extend a warm welcome to all of our fourth
graders who are joining us this year and students who have recently moved into our area. I look forward to
meeting all of you and having a wonderful school year.

Estimados Estudiantes y Padres de la Escuela Primaria de Irrigon,
¡Bienvenido de nuevo a un año escolar fantástico! Espero que esta carta les encuentre disfrutando de las últimas dos semanas
del verano. ¡Sigo siendo absolutamente maravillado como sorprendente es la comunidad de Irrigon! Al comenzar mi 17 años
como educador en El Distrito Educacional del Condado de Morrow, no puedo pensar en ningún sitio en el que me gustaría ser
que Irrigon!!!
Cuando comience la escuela este año verán algunas caras nuevas. Hay una maestra nueva del quinto grado: Sra. Wardle viene
de Boise, donde enseñó para siete años. Tenemos un especialista nuevo de PE, Sr. Lemmon, quien viene de ACH donde enseñó
el año pasado. Tendremos una Asistente Educacional nueva llamada Sra. Contreras. También, Srta. Spencer, nuestra maestra de
música, se casó este verano, entonces su nombre nuevo es Sra. Evanoff. ¡Por favor, ayúdame para dar la bienvenida a nuestro
nuevo personal este año y a dar felicitaciones a Sra. Evanoff!
La escuela comienza el lunes, 29 de augusto. Se abren las puertas de la escuela a las 7:00. Nota, por favor, que esto será de
estricta aplicación este año, ya que no tenemos personal disponible para la supervisión hasta las 7:00. Animamos a los
estudiantes a ir a la cafetería para el desayuno. El recreo de la mañana comenzará a las 7:15 y la escuela comienza a las 7:30.
Encontrará debajo información importante para que usted pueda pensar y planear antes de llegar a la escuela el 29 de augusto.
Noche de Visita: Jueves, 25 de agosto entre las 5:00-7:00. ¡Esperamos pasar este tiempo con las familias IES!

Tarifa del Estudiante: Cada estudiante debe pagar un cargo de $5.00 para participar en cualquier actividad extracurricular,
