Letter from the Principal

Dear Families,
Nothing beats the first day of
school, and seeing such happy students
and families fill our Roseland Creek campus! After an extraordinary inaugural
year, it is still such a pleasure to see the
reaction when families first see our beautiful campus. As the word continues to
spread about our incredibly dedicated
staff and the quality of education our
students are receiving, our enrollment
continues to grow. Whenever I walk the
campus and classrooms, it is clear, RCE is
the place to be!
Throughout last year, our staff worked
on several projects to help create our
unique Roseland Creek culture. One of
those projects was the creation of our
school rules. Since we are Bear Cubs, we
have chosen to call our rules the “Bear
Cub Code”, and to use the
acronym P.A.W.S.:
soon. While our focus at Roseland
Creek will always be on our students’
education and college preparation, we
also strongly believe in enrichment opportunities that offer students
another avenue to shine, another place to belong, and
another reason to love school.
Later this year we also anticipate hosting both boys and
girls basketball teams. Go Bear
Cubs!

Dear Roseland Families,
We are all so happy to
be back in school! On
the first day of school everyone in the
Roseland School District was smiling
including students, teachers, principals, cafeteria staff, custodians, and
me! Roseland is a wonderful place for
all of us!
This year we have a couple of new
and exciting programs for our students.
First, our breakfast program is going
to get bigger. We will be serving
breakfast to all of our students, every
day—and it will be free for everyone!
This “Universal Breakfast” program will
begin September 3rd and you
will receive more information soon. What better way
to start a day of learning
than with a nutritious, delicious breakfast!
Secondly, we have started a
new College Support Program. Once
your child enters college, whether that
is Santa Rosa Junior College, or a fouryear college, or perhaps a career- technical training program we will stand-by to
help our students. We have hired Roseland University Prep alumni, Moriah
Hernandez, Class of 2009, who will

class of 2013. Moriah recently graduated
from Williamette University in Oregon
and knows that leaving Roseland School District and
starting college is a big step.

Nutrition and Health
Is the morning rush at your house a mad dash
to get out the door with your children? Is there
barely enough time to grab their homework
much less eat a nutritious breakfast?
If this sounds familiar you will be
relieved to know that getting that
important morning start will no
longer be a challenge!
Beginning on Tuesday, September 3,
2013 your child’s classroom will
take part in an innovative pilot program called “Breakfast in the Classroom.” A nutritious breakfast will
be served to each student right in
their classroom.
Students will have an opportunity to eat breakfast with their
classmates and get the fuel
they need to be ready to learn.

Queridas Familias
¡Nada Supera el primer día de
clases, y el ver estudiantes y familias felices
llenando nuestra escuela! ¡Después de un
año inaugural extraordinario, todavía es un
placer ver la reacción de cuando las familias
ven nuestra hermosa escuela por primera
vez! Como la palabra continua extendiéndose sobre nuestro increíblemente dedicado personal y la calidad de educación que
nuestros estudiantes están recibiendo,
nuestras inscripciones siguen creciendo.

Nutrición y Salud
¿Es la mañana en su casa una carrera para salir
por la puerta con sus hijos? ¿Hay muy poco
tiempo para agarrar su tarea, mucho menos
comer un desayuno nutritivo? ¡Si esto le
suena familiar, estará contento de saber que
el comienzo de la mañana ya no
será un desafío!
A partir de martes, 3 de
Septiembre, 2013, el salón de su
hijo tomará parte en un innovador
programa piloto llamado
"Desayuno en el Salón". Se servirá
un desayuno nutritivo a cada
alumno en el salón.
Los
estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad
de desayunar con sus
compañeros y obtener la
energía necesaria para que
estén listos para aprender.
