ARTICLE 124 OF THE SPANISH
CONSTITUTION
The Public Prosecutor Service (without prejudice of the functions
amended in other organs) has its mission to promote the action of
justice to defend legality, citizen´s rights and legally protected public
interest, acting ex officio or at request of the interested parties.
Likewise to ensure the independence of the Courts and to strive in
Court for the satisfaction of the interest of society.
The Public Prosecutor Service will execute its duties through its own
organs in conformity with principles of unity of action and
hierarchical dependency and with subjection, in all cases, to the
principles of legality and impartiality.
The Law will regulate the Organic Statute of the Public Prosecutor
Service.

The Attorney General of Spain will be appointed by the King on a
proposal from the Government, after firts having heard the General
Council of the Judicial Power.

 To Coordinate Delegates and specialised Public Prosecutors in the whole Spain.
 To receive whatever notice regarding infractions of environmental legislation, T i h

 To prepare an annual report describing the situation of the environment from the penal and administrative point of view in Spain.
 To organize and participate in events related to the protection of the environment.
