Title VI Public Notice
It is the policy of the Jackson Transit Authority (JTA) to ensure compliance with Title VI of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin (or
sex, for Tennessee Department of Transportation funded programs) in programs and activities receiving
Federal financial assistance. Specifically, Title VI provides that "no person in the United States shall, on
the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or
be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” (42
U.S.C. Section 200d)
Any person who believes that he/she has been discriminated against may contact any of the
following to obtain additional Title VI information, to obtain information about the complaint process,
and/or to file a complaint:

Es nuestra norma de la Jackson Transit Authority (JTA) de asegurar el cumplimiento con el
Derecho VI del Acto de los Derechos Civiles de 1964, el cual prohíbe la discriminación en las bases de
raza, color, u origin nacional (o sexo, para los programas financiados del Departamento de Transporte de
Tennessee) en programas y actividades que reciban ayuda económica Federal. Específicamente, El
Derecho VI proporciona que “ninguna persona en los E.E.U.U. será en base de raza, color, u origin
nacional, ser excluído en participar, de ser negado sus beneficios, o ser sujeto a discriminición bajo
cualquier programa o actividad que esté recibiendo ayuda económica Federal.” (42 U.S.C. Sección 200d)
