MIKE THOMPSON
Education and Qualifications: I am honored to represent Lake County in Congress, where I have one agenda: listening to the folks at home about the opportunities and challenges we face, fighting for our priorities in Washington, coming up
with solutions, and returning home with results.
As your representative, I will continue working to create jobs, grow our economy,
and strengthen the middle class so that everyone who works hard and plays by the
rules has the opportunity to get ahead and succeed.
During my time in Congress, I have fought for job-creating investments in infrastructure, energy and education. I have stood up for our seniors by protecting Social Security and Medicare. I have worked to lower our debt and deficit with
balanced, fiscally responsible solutions that cut spending and grow our economy. I
have championed comprehensive immigration reform. And, as a combat Vietnam
veteran, I have fought to make sure servicemembers, veterans and their families
get the benefits they have earned.
I was born, grew up and still live in our district, and I have always had the honor and
great pleasure to represent all or part of Lake County for my entire time in public office. Our communities and the people are both fantastic. We have worked well together and enjoyed many successes. I look forward to continuing our work
together.
With your support, we will make our district a better place to live, work, raise a family and start a business. On November 4th, I respectfully ask for your vote.

Educación y Calificaciónes: Es un honor representar al condado de Lake en el
Congreso, en el que tengo una agenda: escuchar a la gente de casa respecto a las
oportunidades y los retos que enfrentamos, luchar por nuestras prioridades en
Washington, proponer soluciones y regresar a casa con resultados.
Como su representante, seguiré trabajando para crear empleos, hacer crecer
nuestra economía y fortalecer a la clase media para que todos los que trabajen
duro y sigan las reglas tengan la oportunidad de avanzar y tener éxito.
Durante mi estancia en el Congreso, he luchado por la creación de empleos en
infraestructura, energía y educación. He defendido a las personas de la tercera
edad protegiendo el Seguro Social y Medicare. He trabajado para disminuir
nuestra deuda y nuestro déficit con soluciones equilibradas y con responsabilidad
fiscal que recortan los gastos y hacen crecer nuestra economía. He defendido una
reforma migratoria integral. Asimismo, como veterano de la guerra de Vietnam, he
luchado para garantizar que los miembros del servicio, los veteranos y sus
familiares obtengan los beneficios que se han ganado.
Nací, crecí y sigo viviendo en nuestro distrito, y siempre he tenido el honor y gran
placer de representar al condado de Lake o partes del mismo durante todo el
tiempo que he estado dentro de la función pública. Nuestras comunidades y la
gente son maravillosas. Hemos trabajado muy bien juntos y hemos disfrutado de
muchos logros. Espero que podamos seguir trabajando juntos.
