September 9, 2014 Dear Parent or Guardian, This past Spring, English Language Learner (ELL) students in kindergarten through twelfth grades participated in the administration of the ACCESS for ELLs® language proficiency test. ACCESS provides a standardized measurement of academic language proficiency for ELL students throughout the state of Utah, and in other states. With this information, we will be able to monitor individual ELL student progress on an annual basis. Enclosed you will find your student’s results on ACCESS. The Parent/Guardian Report provides information about your student’s English Language Proficiency Level. This information is for you to review and keep. If you have any questions regarding this test or the information that is being sent to you about how your student performed on this test, please contact me. Estimado padre o tutor, En la primavera pasada, los estudiantes Aprendices del Idioma Inglés (ELL) en los grados de kindergarten hasta el duodécimo grado participaron en la administración de ACCESS para ELLs® es un examen de conocimiento del lenguage. ACCESS provides a standardized measurement of academic language proficiency for ELL students throughout the state of Utah, and in other states. According the results of this exam as well as information from your student’s teachers and administrators, it has been determined that your student no longer needs ELL services. We will continue to monitor your student’s academic success over the next two years to ensure that your student’s needs are being best meet. If you have any questions regarding this test or the information that is being sent to you about how your child performed on this test, please contact me. If you believe your student should not be removed from services, please notify me within 30 days for a review of your student’s records.
