The students need to write each number in an empty cell. Each row, column, and three x three box must contain only one use of each number. Although the Sudoku can be solved with no knowledge of the written form of the numbers e.g. by substituting actual numbers instead of the written forms, the students could be quizzed as to their meanings. With lower ability students it may be of use to suggest colour coding each number. This Sudoku is fairly easy. Teachers may decide to set a time limit to make it more challenging.
